    Default plastic and fiberglass?

    does plastic and fiberglass bond? i could possibly get some small sheets almost any thickness. is this worth a try?

    Nah, just don't let it cure.
    Mylar in 5mm works well.
    Glasing without a bag ended with mediocre results for me.

    with a smooth surface the fiberglass will likely just peel off (depending on the type of plasitic)

    But, if you sand/rough up the surface of the plastic, that will make for a much better surface that the epoxy should be able to bond to. I would recommend trying this out with a small test piece before a full board though.
