Default Mini rail press with a kicktail

hey guys, so i have all my materials wood bolts nuts n all that stuff and i was wondering if theres a set bounce back rate with average baltic birch and titebond III for concave because I don't really know how high to make the rails on the bottom to set a 1/2 concave, also I want to give the deck a bit of a kick tail, sort of like the ceviches if anyone has any ideas or tips on the dimensions on the rails and an idea for a kick tail that'd be great

It depends on what thickness plywood you're using.

Which thickness plywood are you using? 1/8"?

I was thinking 1/4 baltic, is that too thick to get a good bend though? I haven't picked up the ply yet

it's pretty thick. it's what i started out with. best i've ever gotten was 5/8" concave...it sprung back a lot, and one of the plies on the bottom has a little stress crack on the bottom.

i'd get some 1/8" since you haven't gotten it yet.

the press I use for 1/4 baltic birch has an 3/4 inch of concave across 12 inches which bounces back to about 1/2 inch for me. I think it helps to leave it in the press for a long time.
I have gotten decent kicktails with 1/4 ply by leaving it in the press overnight with no glue then again the next day with glue.
    hope this helps.

from my concave only pressings, almost none. from ones with concave and camber, a lot. i think you will lose some in the back at least because of the double bend you are giving the wood
