    Default A new bamboo cruiser

    Hi guys

I just wanted to show you all a board I just finished.
It's made of 2 sheets of 5mm vert lam bamboo, plus a 3mm carbonated sheet, which is made
of 5 veneers in opposite directions. It has light glass between the sheets and one on the bottom.

The shape is pretty FSMish, but it is narrower and has camber instead of rocker. It has a nice gentle concave, by no means flat but just right I'd say.

It was pressed in a vac bag.

Sorry I don't have any pics of it all set up, It's already gone to the customer.

So yeah. This summer I'll be popping out a few more of these, also I've got a dancer in the works which will be finished shortly.

    Cheers.

Very nice looking deck. What I wouldn't give to find some of that 3mm around here. 6mm is the thinnest ply(3 layer) I can get my hands on, all the 3mm I can get is all single layer veneer.

Thanks man. The 3mm is great to work with, no chance of splitting which is good. It's a bit more expensive than the solid 5mm though. I think making a whole board with it would cost a bit.

Chees- I get the wood from a guy in Pahiatua, he's got a website, wovenbamboo.co.nz
Pahitua is about an half an hour out of Palmerston North.
