k since im not a dick ill answer. and tell u what i did. use 3 sheets of BALTIC birch. and use minimum fiberglass. try 6 oz. fiber weave one up and down one at a 45 degree angle. then put on sheet on top when ur done. and the minimal hardener will let it soak into the wood. and reallly get a good grip. then apply a second coat of resin. and BOOM u done.
First home made board. started 11/6/09 fin:11/17/09

You will find a plethora of help using the search tool. People write entire guides on stuff like this. Guys don't write these guide so people like you start new threads... they write them so other people build up on ideas in a single place so others benefit, thus increasing the local emporium of knowledge.
We don't mean to be a jerks, but it's the most effective way to get through to people. If you started a thread asking which Dervish flex to get, it will get closed quickly. Why? Simple; there is a myriad of people unwilling to help themselves.
When I started attending this forum, I quickly found that many question were being duplicated. This clutters the topics and people who already answered the questions became ornery, hence the incredible attitudes you will find.
I write this reply in hopes others will follow by example. I didn't make my signature for laughs.

Re: what should i do next time?
The cutouts look a little long. You are getting way ahead of yourself, you need to do a little more planning before you try and build this. What kind of riding do you want to do with this board? Do you want to make a press for it?

Re: what should i do next time?
the cut outs i just threw in so you could get an idea of where the trucks will be. im thinking of doing 1/8 aspen and three sheets of 1/16 maple. i been reading up about dimm presses and thinking about doing somthing like that? i just started looking into Vlam but i dont know much about it yet.
im looking to ride this board down garages bridges crusing etc. not much hills in ft myers
open to opinions!

Re: what should i do next time?
I suggest starting out slow. Build something simple (top mounted) until you get the hang of board building.
If you don't have access to the tools, you will have a hard time. I've made ghetto boards using a jigsaw, drill, and hand sanding. If you what a drop mount, you would have an easier time with a router, though you can use a drill and jigsaw.
It may take two weeks to build a quality skateboard. Let each coat of paint, stain, clear coat, polyurethane, epoxy, or whatever dry and cure. Typically, I wait a day between steps. If I'm using polyurethane, I will do many coats in one day, and wait a full day until I wet sand.
Wear a mask when you sand. Wear gloves when using chemicals such as epoxy and clear coat.
Don't build in wet, cold, or humid weather. It can take up too 12 hours for 30 min epoxy just to set (not cure).
Here is a good link: How to make a Longboard
Don't forget to use the search tool!
EDIT: You will have a hard time skating down bridges that have expansion gaps. I haven't found one without them!

Re: what should i do next time?
i have expericence in epoxy building etc. i used to work for APEX skimboards so i know how to do things that could help with making longboards.
here is the link to the site if you wanna check out the brand
Apex Skimboards
