    Post Recycled snowboard!

hey guys, thought i would give someone out there an idea on a new board.
its using a damaged snowboard that has been trimmed down and made to look good.
i thought it was a good idea for that old snowboard in the garage. it would have quite a bit of flex and would carve nicely, probly quite strong as well.
had a question though, how would you cut it out? jigsaw? hack saw?
and how would you sand it?
hope someone ends up making one of these and ends up sharing it on here

I recently moded my snowboard and in the process got a detailed look of the inside. The layup was as follows:

    TOP
    12oz triaxial
    1/16 maple
    12oz triaxial
    some plastic
    BOTTOM

does anyone know what plastic they use in snowboards anyways? I've been thinking about making a snowboard but the only thing stopping me is that I don't know what they use on the bottom. Also I don't know how I would make the metal edges.

You don't need no more boards...

Though... I do agree you can't ever have enough.

    Thumbs up Re: Recycled snowboard!

Made this one for my daughter about 4 mos. ago and it worked out great. I used a jigsaw to cut it out so as to not destroy my bandsaw blade...watch out for the inserts...they're usually stainless steel and hell to get through..worked great...will support my 145 lbs and is nice to ride. You can adjust how much flex you want based on what section of the snowboard you use.
