Hi, i am completely new to longboarding, but i want to make one.

so in making one(i want a dancer, 50-60) could i just get take 11ply birch, cut out my shape and strap on trucks? or is glueing necessary?
i only weigh 140 pounds, also.

i really dont know so i figured this would be the place to ask, thanks

gluing helps to create strength while lessening weight, which I assume you want on a dancer.
also do you want flex? 11 birch probably won't flex much... I built a dancer 2 3mm sheets of baltic birch and one layer fiberglass applied very simply gave me alot of flex and spring back for 58". We weigh the same too so that will hold true for you also

Yeah be careful with the birch. Is it Baltic Birch? If not don't use it..... it's crap.

If you want concave or camber or any other kind of curves you have to press it. If you want something flat then not really... A flat dancer is fine so knock yourself out and do it. As long as it's the right kind of birch.
