    Default Shlongboard Idea

I haven't seen this before, but I had the idea a couple days ago, and I just wanted to hear what you guys thought and any suggestions you might have.

The idea is to put regular shortboard trucks on the very front of of the board by cutting new holes on the kick. Then, use LONGBOARD trucks on the back end in the normal place for shortboard trucks (still going to have to make a few holes though).

The obvious problem would be using risers in the front to level out the board, but if the trucks are long enough, you wont need risers in the back (for say, 65-70mm wheels), so It could be done I'm sure.

Feedback? Anyone done this? Anyone think its ridiculous? Anyone have no idea what I'm talking about?

    Seems worth messing around with..

It'll be a bad ride if your rear trucks have more turn than the front though.

And boards tend to slide strangely when you have different width axles..

Try wedging the side with the mounting on the kick so it's flat or near flat. You can use both of your "shortboard" trucks for both mountings.

which trucks do you have? chances are if you throw in some small cones (hard cores or the new compatible venom cones) in there, they'll turn really well (more than a reverse kingpin truck).

This is true, especially at lower speeds. I dewedged both my indy-style trucks to compensate for the kick wedging, and even though the hangers were longer than the old trucks it was still responsive enough to do some mild pedestrian slalom on campus.

and what would be fun is to use street trucks front and back and put surfrodz 40mm extensions on buttttt you might have a problem with hitting your foot on the back wheel when pushing

i think you should mount them on the kicks, then dewedge the back and keep the front wedged, throw hard bushings in the back and mega soft in the front and try a drop deck slalom board , i've been wanting to try it for a while but i don't have a street deck that i can cut up...or money for risers...lol

Nah dude, the front would be too wedged so it wouldn't turn. You still have to dewedge the front.
