Fiberglass board with limited edition carvers
So here is the finished board, called 'tank', with my first attempt at using fiberglass in the pressing process. It has 2 separate layers of glass laminating the 3 pieces of 3 ply birch, so it is stiff as it can be. The small kick was made by leaving a foot or so hanging out of the press, and piling my weight plates on it. It took 150lbs of pressure to bend what it has now, so if you plan on pressing a kick be prepared to use a LOT of force.
The glass makes the board very 'thick' sounding, so while it isn't that big (and is pretty light) it is pretty silent aside from the noisey Gravity wheels.
Water based gloss urethane used on the bottom, with a poorly done (On my part) ricepaper decal.
The trucks are Carver C3's, limited edition with khiro white bottoms and stock tops. As it is I can carve very easily, and bomb just as easily just be tightening the nuts. I'm going to also slide the thing soon too. The spacing is such that when I'm carving my feet are right on the truck The trucks are awesome.
I'm waiting on a tailbone and a nosebone, so I can start to ollie the thing and REALLY have some fun.
This isn't my entry into the board building contest, although it might be if time doesnt allow, but you can be assured that my next board will look even better.
Dimensions:
39in long
10in wide
3/4in thick
30in wheelbase

To be honest, the shape it borrowed from this thread:

I told him I used his design sans the wheel placement, and he hasn't replied since then. So it figured it was all good

Are those trucks supposed to be mounted like that? Just looking at that setup blows my mind. Nice deck, I think The Tank is a very fitting name.

Yeah, they are. With the C3's there is a front and a back truck. The back has a flatter geometry and traditional setup, while the front is steeper and has a pivot similar to randals where it is flipped. This also means it can only really be ridden one way, which works with my board.
When I first rode it, it was wobbly as hell, and once I tightened up the back truck, I can get easy U turns and still be stable at speed.

Try 3 or 4 plies of 1/8 inch birch instead next time, the thinner wood makes bending kicks way easier.

dude, love the graphics man, and the grip design is simple yet powerful. tell us how it rides, especially with the trucks like that.

wow, at first i thought i would be funny and say your trucks are on worng, but then i read why... and now i have q's. Why can you only ride it in one direction what does it ride like when its backwards?

It's like an evo kinda. The back truck doesn't do a whole lot of turning, the front does. So if you were to ride it backwards it would feel like the back end was whipping around and you would get speed wobbles. If you were to hold the trucks you would see the difference in the angles. The front is (Guessing now) something like 45 degrees and the back is something like 80. It just wouldn't be stable.
It rides VERY nice. I did a lot of bombing and carving tonight on it, and besides the board being very wide, it felt very stable and fun. It wouldn't speed wobble, but because of my bushings (Khiro whites) on the bottom it felt a little squirrelly in tight turns. It carved super nice once I dialed it in. I originally had it too tight for fear of wobbles, but they can go really loose before presenting a problem.

my dad liked it, and is doing blueprints earlier, never seen him too eager to get a board done, said he will be using Melina, a strong and flexible white wood, or palochina, a very light and strong wood (less flexible).
