Shortboard conversion question And New Pics
hey, i posted a thread earlier about what kind of board i should get for tight carves and pumping, and this guy told me to take my regular shortboard and put wedged risers on, and put white khiro bushings on the front truck and blue khiro bushings on the back truck. then, put some fat wheels on. Well, i have indy's on my shortboard now, and i can get the new bushings, but i was thinking of drilling new mounting holes for the trucks on the nose and the tail of the board. does anyone know if it would work well? and if it does, do i still need to put wedged risers on, or will it be fine like that. I think it would work without em, but i dunno.
Here's mine. flip geoff rowley deck. indy stage 9 129mm. powell g bones 65mm. 97a. Bones Reds bearings

i'm guilty of seismic mounts on short wheel base.. most prefer long wheel base mount. seismic (SLONG STYLE), jacks up the ride/ geometry bigtime! try indys or similar type trucks, not seismics..

like a month ago, i saw a setup like this in ebay, so me the curious one, got a board, mini logo, cheap one, tried to drill mounting holes on both ends, and guess what, i dammaged the board, maybe it is too brittle, or maybe i did a wrong drill, need your idea on this one sir.

hmm
i dunno why ur deck would crack, i'll look out for that. i think i'll just try and drill my holes nice and slow to make sure they turn out well. Were u in a rush or something?

i pressed the drill harder that usual, since i used a sugar maple minilogo deck, but it cracked.

also, dad said i should have used a smaller drill, then larger, for the mount of course.

yes the best way is to start with a smaller bit then go up in steps to the right size for the mounting hardware. usually one step is enough but two is better if you want to take your time and be careful. also drill from the bottom of the board sio that you won't have problems with bolt alignment when you mount your trucks. another thing is to print off the bolt hole template that is available in this forum. use that to mark your holes and you'll be allright.

That's a schlong board...do a search for that and you'll find lot's of info and pics Maybe also try short long conversion. I built a schlong and it is very fun. Pro's-cheap, easy and portable, con's-kind of narrow, the added wheelbase can make it kind of flexy. You can mount the trucks without risers but it makes the trucks sit at a wierd angle which makes it harder to turn. I run mine with indys and blue bones bushings, with 77mm strikers a very fun cruiser. with retro vertz it serves as my slider.
Curse your sudden, but inevitable betrayal!

Google can be good to but only as good as the key words you give it.
