okay, so maybe i lied and used a misleading search entry to draw you to this post, these boards are not actually asian. They are half asian, the inks used were made in japan. But the threesome still holds. These are some boards i have made recently that i've been too lazy to post until recent. The big red one is a reincarnation of my fromer baby that was ran over, the here's johny board was an experiment in poster lamination/ concave, and the skull was my own experiment in airbrushing technique and made for a friend of mine.
Details: wood- 1/4inch 5ply birch + 2 layers glass +1/4 birch
stains: various airbrushed blends of india ink, red oak minwax stain, and acryllic inks
paints: for skull- sharpie concentrated india ink for skull basecoat, antique gold acryllic for detail coat
for the big red one (aka- the schlitt stick): sharpie plus concentrated acryllic inks
the here's johny board: red and black sharpie
all were sealed with 4-12 coats high gloss spar eurethane
hardware: skull board will be on gullwing sliders with reds and red cherry bombs pluss DOOKs 1/4in risers
schlitt stick- RII 180s, reds, FuManchu misprints
Here's johnny- scrapped for parts for skull board
the schlitt stick has a double kick tail and camber, is about 45 or so inches long (haven't exactly measured it, i play it by feel when i make em- but i'm six three and it gives me loads of room). weaves like a dream through campus crowds and was rated "snowboardy" by jmclure- pretty much rides as an all around competent board with a lot of pop and a couple possible tricks if i was a better shortboarder.
The other two ride about the same with the skull board having a smoother ride, pretty much like a sector nice cruiser but with better trucks- very turny with moderate flex.
and last but not least, no, the skull boards top isn't done yet, i just got a lil lazy after everything else
