latest board #3
I just finished painting this 36"x9" beast.
It's laminated with a nose kick and concave with blatic birch and walnut.
I haven't cleared it yet, but once I do, the walnut will look way nicer.
I made this thing as a nice all around board.
Tell me what you think.
This one will be up for sale after I clear it, so if anyone is interested, shoot me a PM.

SWEET BOARD
Thanks for the complement.
The board pressed for 12 hours,
I cut and shaped it for 2 hours,
and then it took 2 hours to paint.
It usually takes longer to paint, but these paint pens dry so quickly, and i can finish the boards fast

Awesome board. I like the flaming tiki and the bends all look great. Only problem you might have is getting people to believe that you made it and didn't buy it. Wish I could get mine to come out so finished looking. My problem is I wanna ride it as soon as it's out of the press.

thats why you do , and if it breaks in the time then all those hours you would have spent finishing it will not happen

You hand shape your foam molds? I have a vacuum bag sitting around doing nothing... I need to get to Home Depot and get some insulating foam this weekend, no wood yet and the spot I usually get my baltic birch from is closed until March which, I guess means I have some time to make some molds. How hard is it to put shapes like that into the foam? I'm reluctant to dive right in...

ya, I use a vac bag, and hand shape my molds.
I started off using .5" foam cuz that's all home depot had.
I use 2" thick foam for this press and it worked so much better.

i have a question are you doing female and male molds or just one side ?
And are you still using 1/8" Blatic Birch or are you getting it thinner ?

OMG!
Great job Ryan. You keep up work like that and there is no way I'll ever be able to do a finish/graphics contest cause you'll scare then all away with your skills. amazing. Some board company is gonna snatch you up to do graphics for them if you keep this up.
