    Default Customizing my KS Scimitar

So I got the board on Monday, and came down to corvallis, found tape, and had my go at it last night. It turned out pretty well, I think. The dude at the skate shop told me of a kinda neat way to do the edges. He showed me how to flatten the edges against the board with the side of a screwdriver and then cut along the board with a razor blade. It worked pretty well, and I'm sure if someone was more careful, they could do better than I did.
I'm pretty happy, though. My baby's coming along!

Scimitar? is this any different than the KS m1? it looks the same! (except you have the modified wheel cutouts)

nice job on the grip by the way!

The Scimitar has the bigger cutouts so you can run a big ol' wheel on it (up to 110mm, so says William). Mine is cut to 38" instead of the standard 46".

Sweet man. How long have you been riding this setup? Hows the flex on a board 8 inches shorter? (also how much do you weigh?)

looks pretty sweet.... might have to do my own custom cutouts on my M1 soon....

Just since Monday. I'm still getting used to it cause it's such a different ride than my friend's S9 pintail I rode. The flex is pretty moderate, and the board rides really carvy. I'm only 125 lbs. I didn't want anything with a ton of flex, so it's really good for me, and it would flex more on someone bigger, I'm sure.

i bet taking 8 inches off the board makes that thing turn like crazy, considering the M1 is already so carvy. hmmm i wonder if that board is more or less flexy than the M1...

Yeah, it does perfect 90 degrees. I never rode an M1, so I don't know. But I did hop on an Eastside dropboard and I think the Scimitar is carvier than that one. It's a dream!

Another difference is in the angle between the cutout and the rail. On the M1, even the ones
with deeper cutouts, it is a smooth curve. On this it is a harder line. The way the griptape is done
here softens that. I will admit, I was hoping for a more radical shape difference myself.

But if the Scimitar standard is 38", that should be a pretty good distinction in itself.

I think standard, they are both 46" (I actually don't know). But William said he could cut anywhere from 38" to 46" on the Scimitar.
It comes standard with abec11 76mm Gumballs at 78a duro. The bearings are premium too.
Oust moc7 speed bearings with spacers. Trucks are still Randal RII 180.

According to another Silverfish post, it is 9.8" wide.

Seems pretty reliable, and sounds about right.

By the way, the grip looks fantastic, what did you cut it with?
