    Default MayhemWorks Project

This build is going to be an on going project. For the past week I have been designing shapes and playing around with ideas. Searching the Board Building forum has been a lot of help and inspiration. These are some of the shapes I managed to come up with.

I'm basically tweaking the Hotrod by Plummet (END of YEAR Board building contest ENTRY thread.) to my own specifications.

I'm not sure what materials, components, ect I am going to use yet so any ideas are welcome. In the next few days, I'm going to post the art work I plan using for the graphics.

Don't forget to check back for updates!

Well I've been reading up on the different wood types and I have decided to go with Canadian Hard Maple and a Baltic Birch mix. I want the board to be strong yet flexy and a bit snappy. Fiberglass is also an option but I'm not sure if I want to go that route right now. School is about to let back in so I figured I would go with another small deck. Shooting for a 8" x 30" deck / camber, concave, kicktail & drop-through. Next to do: hit up the local lumber yards to find the best pricing on 1/16 bb and maple.

    Check back for more updates!

#'s 1,4 & 5 look like great shapes. How wide is the pintail at the forefoot position?

btw, if you want to post photos fullsize here but don't have a place to host them, u/l to the Member Uploads gallery (see nav bar, above) and they'll show in your posts.
