    Default Drop deck

Made myself a drop deck, the drop is not too big, but it's ok. Work still in progress (sanding and graphics)

Made of 4 sheets of 3 mm (1/8 inch) birch, between the two bottom sheets I've put a layer of fiberglass and between the two top sheets I've put fiberglass around the drop area to make it stiffer. The flex is ok (I wheigh about 80 kg), if I jump on it hard, it touches the floor. Has a nice rebounce.

The board looks great. How about some diamentions (width, length and wheel base) By the way be careful with those screws, they may give way under the stress of riding after awhile, they are softer than the hardware normally used on decks.

    Dimensions :

    Length : 120 cm
    Width : about 22 cm

the drop on my press was about 4 cm over 15 cm, but it came back a bit.

About the flex, I haven't had the chance to ride it yet, when I mounted the trucks it was raining. I actually didnt expect any flex at all, but it's quite all right. I've been riding a sector 9 cosmic series, I think it's comparable to that.

Also, my first idea was to mount the trucks drop thru, but I'm a bit scared that the wood won't hold it, what do you guys think (12 mm birch plywood with 2 layers of fiberglass)

Sorry about the dimensions in centimeter and milimeter.

1/2" should be fine. The glass should offer a little insurance.

    Here's a couple of examples.

stencils are pretty easy. stains are simple same with painted stripes, just get some blue masking tape.

Can I bother you for pictures of your press?

Sweet build man, keep up the good work.

I'll go take some pictures of the press tomorrow or the day after. I got all the wood needed for the press from a DIY shop for free (I work there in summertime), and after I finished the deck, I brought the press back. Actually, the press is based on this thread:

My latest Press - a slide deck (lots of photos)

It's really simple to make, but it works so good.

Thanks for all the nice comments!!

I just did the wheel cutouts.

I glued one piece of 3mm plywood to the bottom of my skateboard, with some fiberglass inbetween, it's because I'm gonna put some skyhooks on that shlongboard
