Varnish help....

Hey, I just finished painting on my design on my speedboard, (normal house paint) and decided to look up what kind of varnish to use. I read that you were suposed to put one layer of varnish before you do your paint.... Can I just put the varnish over the paint without the under layer thing? And what kind of varnish should I get?

If there is more than one color, you might be screwed. I painted a varnish on my speedboard, made the graphic all nice and pretty then i did the varnish. The paint reacted and rose and cracked, it smeared and looked like ####. So test it before you do it.

soo like put a little of the varnish on all the different colors to test it? Oh and I need to know what kind of varnish to buy????
