Re: Wood suppliers
Sauers Veneer HighPoint, NC for large flitch sized orders - was where I was getting mine when still pressing solid wood.
The WoodGroup, formerly Plywood & Plastics of Richmond, VA was a good source for BB 1/8" on up in multiple grades prior the price soaring though the stock crunch is expected to ease in the next few months.
Now that building methods have fundamentally changed (for me at any rate), material emphasis has shifted to recovered processed woods (where needed) and other materials which allow you to pick up scrap from cabinet shops, shipping and packaging operations, sign shops and fine wood wholesalers.
Best of all, usually free.

Re: Wood suppliers
West Wind Hardwoods out of Sydney, BC will ship their $30 skateboard sets (which are 1/4" thick when pressed which seems kinda off to me...I think typo) via canada post which is pretty cheap. they aren't as wide as Ted's (Roarockit) and you can't get longer than 38" lengths but if you're building a pool/slide/park deck it is an affordable option. Good option for west-coasties who want maple but don't want to pay as much for shipping.

Re: Wood suppliers
Turns out Westwind does have 48" x 11" maple veneer sets as well, and the 1/4" is a typo, they're 1/16th maple veneers. Really helpful too, ask for Danny, he's the one in charge of ordering them and whatnot.

Here is what you missed "All of our 1/16" thick veneers are sold by the square foot"
multiply that by 50" X 11= 550 sq.in. (typical longboard size) divide that by 144 and you have 3.89 sq. feet of material for each sheet of veneer. Multiply that by $1.90 per sq foot and you end up with $7.25 per sheet. With the seven layers the deck will cost you $50 bucks for the veneer.
Not so good a price. This is a retailer of fancy veneers for the furniture building market. They do not have cheap prices for 1/16" maple like Roarockit, Summit or Westwind.

Re: Wood suppliers
Anyone in Central Florida, I just foun a place in Orlando (Casselberry actually, but close to Orlando) called Woodcraft. It is about to move down the street but it is currently on 436 right by 17-92. They had some scratch and dent wood out front and I got a sheet of 1/8BB for 7.50. It was in rough shape around the edges but I can definitely get enough salvageable wood out of it for a full deck and maybe one or two plys of another.

Re: Wood suppliers
I found a good place in Ft. Lauderdale called Constantine's wood supply, tons of different species and pretty good prices.
