Try Hardwood warehouse in Harrisburg 717-540-5454.
I think Ted at roarokit gets his wood from a mill in canada.

Anybody know of a place around the Upstate of SC (Greenville) Area? I called the local places and the ones that do carry BB, only carry it in thick sheets. I have not tried the cabinet makers shops yet, and did not know if they would even sell it if they had it.

i searched amazon, and the best thing i could find is this
    "Baltic Birch Plywood 2 Sheets 1/8 X 20 X 30"

20x30 is pretty useless for a longboard...unless you're only making minis......

It depends on how thick it is. For 1/4 inch that's probably ok, mine was 17.

It depends what you are wanting to buy. If it is 1/16" Canadian hard maple and you are buying small amounts, Roarockit is it. You have an advantage Boards & Bongs in that you live close to our shop so you don't have to pay for shipping unlike our customers who live elsewhere.

If you are looking to buy skids of Skateboard veneer I would search out a local mill or one south of the border. Slap a bunch of our Canadian bucks down and Bob's your uncle. Don't think about phoning a mill unless you are wanting to invest 7 to 10 grand.

There are other veneer suppliers in the Toronto area. A&M in Cambridge, Unicorn in Toronto and Exotic Woods in Burlington. All three of these places are great for buying fancy veneers and plywoods like Baltic Birch. I prefer A&M. Unfortunately all of them do not stock 1/16" maple milled for skateboards. Once in a while I have seen 1/16" stock at A&M but it is priced twice as much as what we sell it for.

Home Depot, Lowes and Rona do not stock 1/16" maple veneer or real Baltic Birch. One place I know that will sell you Baltic Birch is Fairbank lumber in Toronto. They have two locations.

I think we sell maple veneer at a reasonable price considering we have invested in buying large amounts of the stuff, payed for storage, shipping materials and an employee to package it before it goes in the mail.

Shipping has always been an issue for customers not close to Toronto. Unfortunately we have no control over what UPS or the US mail service charge when it comes to pricing. We don't add any mark up on this cost.

Baltic Birch from Fairbanks would be my first choice if maple is too expensive. It will get the job done.

    Hope this helps.

I teach woodwork in Campbell River, BC and just ordered 50 sets for making regular park boards from York North Veneer Products in Douglas, New Brunswick. They're Eastern Maple, 1/16" (4 plies) with 1/24" cross bands (3 plies). I had them dye the various layers different colours and left the X bands natural.
Our next venture will be longboards...they can supply these veneers as well.
Shipping was a bit of a killer to BC but still came out way less than buying them individually from a local retailer at $20-$30 each.
I do not know how small of a volume they will supply but you could try....Jennifer is very helpful.

The board I want to make for my Carve Stik trucks would be cheaper to buy new than to make my own. 75 bucks for the deck.... cheapest route for homemade would cost about 100 bucks (priced without vacuum bags i could make myself, epoxy, grip, paint, fiberglass)

I've been getting most of my wood for boards free from scrap piles and salvaged hardwood flooring, but I think I wanna just use some reliable bb plywood or bamboo ply. Anyone know of any good suppliers in Jersey City or NYC?
