try >Paint.net< and / or >Inkscape<. Paint.net is more like Photoshop and Inkscape is more like Illustrator.

You can never go small to large with any file that is not vector, such as .jpeg, .gif, .png, etc. Imagine nylon netting. The more you stretch it the bigger the holes in the nylon are. In comparison, its the more information that is lost. Therefore, huge amounts of pixelation.

If you dont have the software, take another picture of it in high res setting from straight on. That way you have a high res large photo, can size it down if you want, or print it and stencil it. Thats the fastest and cheapest way to do it.

If you want a free software, even though it wouldnt do anything for you if your image is too small already. There is gimp, someone already mentioned. Also, super simple programs like Picasa from Google.

limewire can be very helpful if you dont mind the questionable legality issue. In my mind they charge way to much any way, even though that doesnt make it right. Oh well.

Be careful with those downloads, the keygens are full of trojan horses. I have cs3 legit, but technically it isn't mine it's my employers. Same goes for most of my cameras too.

At this point it would probably be easier to free hand the drawing on the board and use your current image as a guide to look at. Because no matter what tool you use scaling up the image will look bad.

If you have the patience you can trace the image with one of the vector programs and then scale it, but it's almost as long doing that as it is to remake the image at the proper size in any of the programs.

It's all about how much time you need to paint it.

If you'd like, you can email it to me and Ill help you out. I have all the programs to help. You wont be able to do anything unless you make it vector (infinitely scalable through illustrator) at this rate in the game.

Sylvia, you're a good person to offer to help like that.

Teddy, the voting begins Mar 7. A thread w/ poll and pics will probably appear at that time.

Teddy, Sniffleless wrote that he would post a entry thread for this graphics contest on Feb 28th or 29th. I can't wait, because I just finished my board last night. Photos are taken, descritption is written. What I need to know is what size should I resize my photos to?
