A thought...
Now, I know this has probably been posted... But how am I supposed to find it with the search... Anyways... What if you got some plywood, say, maple and BB for simplicity, and you pressed it in a no concave, kicktail press. Then you cut it into strips and V-lam them. Could this produce a nice v-lam board with a kicktail? Just kind of a thought...

I believe it would produce a board exactly like the one you cut up, but cut up and glued back together.

Re: A thought...
you'd basically have a board made of glue that i think would ride like a wet noodle.

Why do all companies feel the need to claim techniques and processes that have already been around for a while? What they meant to say was
"Gravity offers V-lam, a new technology, for us anyway"

Re: A thought...
This still reminds me of GFH's ad... Is it really green?

Re: A thought...
Well it does reduce, reuse and recycle; so it's green-er

Re: A thought...
it might work better if you v-lammed up the wood, cut "veneers" out of it (no idea how you could do that, a really good bandsawy maybe?) and pressed your v-lam layers... it would probably also be good to stagger the vertical glue joints within the horizontal lamination. It is a lot of glue to use though.
