City/School Hopper Design idea?
Ok I'm getting ready to make my own board now.. I've been riding a couple of months now and due to a injury I'm not allowed to skate that much at the moment so I got spare time on my hands.
things already here:
4 sheets of 100cm by 30 cm by 3mm Birch, 3 layers,
Enough stuff to create a press.
Randal RII 150 trucks
72mm Super G's.
My current board: Bahne Banshee with those Randal RII 150 and 72 Super G's.
I want to create something that is easy to carry around inside a store or school. Since we don't have lockers and stuff I want it "small" but not to small that i can't have a comfy stance. I have ridden a LY Mummy and that is comfy for my stance. 33" is enough, maybe even some to room to spare. 30-32" would be perfect. the Mummy only didn't have enough flex for the bumpy roads here.
The demands I have: comfy stance (30-32" board is enough for me), Flex! (too smoothe out some of the bumps, and have some nice rebound), compact and turny! Cities here have small and crowded streets so a turny board is a must (that's what I kinda miss on my board)
My plan was to create my own version of the LY Mummy/Busting Spliff. But not really sure about the amount of concave and camber. And if I want to lower it a little bit like the Spliff is.
Any ideas on the specs?

make a mini pin tale, about.... say......20-30 inches long. i think that would be ok for transport and easy to cary around. put some angled risers on it and it would be good to go. check out bustin boards NY they have some crazy designs, i hope they could give you an idea.

well get new wheels. gravity has crappy urethane. id say some red zigzags or bennett alligators would be good. you could probably use the extra grip since randal 150s of a shorter board will turn pretty quick.

angled risers probably arent a good idea. the length will make it turn quickly anyway so angled risers will just make it super unstable. unless its a slalom board i wouldnt angle it unless its over~30"

I've gone for something like the Mummy/ Spliff with a very small kicktail idea (like 3 inches which is enough for my small feet) so I'm able to kick it around a lillbit and hop it on to sidewalks. Also I tried to lower the board as much as possible for ease on my ankle (which i messed up as hell, brace all the way)
I've set the lenth to 29-31" inches, within this area I can have a comfy stance (already tested that.
And owh yeah: those Super G's are going to be replaced with some Grippins or Flashbacks (70mm 74a) in may.
Owh yeah this is the press Work in Progress.
