[using friends account]
Hey, as the title says im a newbie and want to try building a board (simple)... and i am a "big" person though... not overweight but in general and was wondering if...
I were to follow instructions and so on and make a 1/4 birch on 1/4 Birch board (like from toothless boards).... would this work for me? or would i need another 1/4?
sorry random i know... and for you info, i am about 5'10, round up to about 200, and size 11 feet about.... i know i know... info info info.... but if you can somehow help that would be great, i have searched just cant seem to find the right answer...thanks
p>s,... thought about using 1/2 birch, but then i wouldn't be able to make it have flex so when i stand it flattens out...or would i? anyone know? thanks.... and sorry again

2 1/4" sheets should be good for you. You also have to take wheel base into consideration as well.
1/2" BB is pretty much good for flat decks only.

Yeah, just uh, stare at the board and it'll make sense. You can test it out with 2 beer cans (full) in the places where you're planning on putting the trucks and seeing how it feels.

What he means is:- if you place the beer cans at each end of the board and stand on it, it's gonna flex down with your weight. If you now move the beer cans, say 2" towards each other and then stand on it, it will flex down ward but not as much as the 1st time you tried it. By reducing the wheel base, you reduce the flex. So basically mess round repostioning the beer cans until you have a placement that results in the flex you like the most. Mark, measure, drill board and then drink those beers
