As far as i know the 1/4 BB will be much too stiff to press into the large bends dropped boards such as the Evo have. I'm going to start building drop deck speedboards and I will be using about 10ply of 1/16th inch maple veneer. I'm buying a TAP and probably a couple sets of veneer from them to make the board.

I could be wrong but from my research and limited experience I think you will need thinner wood to get the bends and more plys to get the stiffness. But all this depends on your weight and how extreme of a shape you are going for.

NOTE: I've built 4 boards using 1/4 inch BB. One was a 59" dancer (3 x 1/4") completely flat besides a slight rocker. The next was a 47" pintail with camber (3 x 1/4") then 2 shaped somewhat like the dervish with drop through and camber. Each of those were 2 pieces of quarter inch.
