just getting into longboarding

So I didnt buy a complete board because i have a friend thats a hell of an artist so I figured he could do my bored for me, But now i need trucks wheels and bearings and have no clue really what to buy... I am mainly getting this to just cruise around on and going to class so please help me out thanks.

you didnt say how long your board is but im guessing over 36". in anycase, i would go with 180 randalI II trucks, bones reds bearings, and a semi soft slalom style wheel of your choice. bigger means it goes over bumps better but accelerates slower and to a greater eventual speed. anywhere between 69 and 72 should be good. your probably looking at 100 bucks or so. craigslist and ebay are good choices to start looking.
