Wow ted, are you a child?

Someone posts up here every week saying "i want to build a bigger board" and your bags work just fine unless you want to build something massive. West is a good place to get a fat roll of it.

Why do you have to jump in and force your #### on everyone? Your stuff works just fine, I never said anything otherwise, the only thing I ever said was that you were a dick and an electric pump is less work. Both of which are true.

Thanks for the backup jestah, did chang hook up with you in NZ? Are you coming back up here for next race season?

heres a board i made with teds tap kit, with an added electric pump and manifold to do more than 1 board at once. The only beef i have with his kit is the little pump is a lot of work and provides no insurance against leaks. He's right, anyone getting into board building should get one, but anyone who wants to go production or semi-production needs something more efficient with less room for error.

anyhow, the main problem i see with using epoxy and a tap bag is the issue of pressure. i like to think i know what im talking about with vacuum bagging stuff (check out some of my builds) and there is no difference in issues of it sticking to the bag as with a more professional set up
    but whatever
    just my opinion
theyre still an excellent product though for beginner builders
I have a great video in my files that Joe shot about our kit claiming it takes something like 3000 pumps to evacuate the air from our TAP bag. Their is a part in the video where he falls over as if he had a heart attack. Love it. Too bad he pulled it off his site! I think his lawyer had a little to do with its removal.

His tip....The question is....Will it work or not?
Tip #1: A quick fix for this issue is to simply place a cheap vacuum gauge inside the bag along with your project.

I do think that Joe site truly does provide a great service to anyone wanting to use an electric system for laminating veneers and I often advise people to check his site out when they want to get into electric systems. I am glad to say the Roarockit review has changed dramatically since its first posting on his site. Ya! Joe.

A little advise, I would not use the info in his review to make you an expert on the art of vacuum bagging with manual pump. I cannot tell you how many posts I have seen on forums from people claiming they know all about vacuum bagging with a manual pump based soley on reading Joe's review.

Hey! I love what I do, what I came up with and that Norah and I had the incentive to create something real from our ideas. In the grand scheme of things it's just a tool and one way in a million ways to accomplish a task. I think if it was your baby you probably would be reacting the same as I, in similar circumstances.

Cranks...wish you lived around Toronto....The little spitting match we got going on could be put to better use....like building a board or two together.

    Merry Christmas to all.

IF you are not going to buy Ted's bag, then I say just make your own.
All you need is a roll of the sealing tape like this below
    Vacuum Bag Sealing Tape
and some thick poly. Fold it over in half so you only seal three edges.
A piece of glass cloth and a little sealing tape in one corner can be used to make the vacuum port, use a West System suction cup to attach the line to the bag.

add this to the resource thread, if it isnt there. stickying everything would result in chaos.

That valve will work fine if you are using a lock on type connector from the pump.
West sells some suction cups that just slide onto the end of a plastic hose, a pack of three of them is probably the same price as the valve shown.

Cool Re: Vacuum Bagging Info - FYI

When i joined this forum, my intention was to check out the board building thread.
Less than 10% actually make some really tech stuff, and props to those people!
Its really cool that everyone shares info here. I have used Ted's bag and have also made my own.
In my opinion; if you build a board, you will skate it. However, if you don't skate, no matter how many boards you build, you will never know. It's like a vegetarian chef who cooks meat, you never know what it really tastes like.
People have their own agenda, maybe just to sell/market a product [and, it's a good product].

    People will decide for themselves.
