Hey, my dad came up with this idea. its like a dimm KINDA. postivie side of foam. on to bottom. then take the wedges and lay em ontop of the wood, and take reg ply wood strips at 3/8 and 12X4 or 12X2 but 4 inches is WAY better and lay em across. and screw down. um... thats it really. of 3/8 dont work. then try 1/4 idk if itll work. but it did for me 1/2inch chamber. 3/4 concave!1107091705.jpg

seems like an interesting idea... my only question is about the press strength... it seems to work fine for the presses you're doing, but if you tried something like a drop deck the strips would likely never make the full press. The pressure i use causes the 2x4's to make a pretty good racket when on my last few passes of tightening down.
Sweet idea, though hope the board comes out well for ya! looking forward to seeing what the ingenuity will create!
