I think dirt boards and 50"+ would be good catagories. This is killing me waiting to the 15 to start my slalom.

Hey Basil, if I do two slalom can I enter them both in or just pick between them for the best?

One entry per person, per contest, please. I love that you've got two fresh, or will, boards that fit the contest!

how about:
v lams
long long boards
backyard boards - built from recycled materials, with limited tools
sidewalk surfers
just as long as there are none of the categories from last years contests

The recyclable idea is tight, but using limited tools would be hard to govern.....How can one know that some one doesnt use power tools unless everyone trusts everyone....too bad it isnt that way.....or we could all just be optimistic....not sure.......is it half full?

Id enjoy a 70's and 80's contest where you have to do two boards and make them distinct from one eachother but presented with one another....maybe something like having two different decade styles for the same style of riding....

Pimped would be a tight catagory.

yeah, i think the recyclable idea means like made from everyday materials that dont usually get used and are then made into a longboard ...

oh epic, i would LOVE to make a retro board, that would be heaps of fun

What got me thinking about the retro board was an experiance I had in 7th grade. It was shop class, and we had 3 projects to pick from. I went for a wall shelf. This other kid, on the side talks the teacher into letting him make a skateboard. It was cut from an oak plank and had a wedge glued to it in a clamp for a tail. He shaped it with a sander and mounted trucks and big red kryptos on it at the end of the term and I was really jealous. That was almost 30 years ago but I still want to make one of those. I'll put big fat clear red retro wheels on it and try to find some old trucks.

What if We have one of the contests be, not a board bulding contest, but related.

My Idea is....LOUD DRUM ROLL.......slide glove making contest

then we can slap eachother in the face with them and see if they work

Today is the 15th!!!!! I am going to throw the wood for the slalom board as soon as I get home.

To tell the truth I enjoy letting the contests just come up and trying to adapt ideas to fit in the guidelines. Either way I am stoked to get started in to my long life of longboards.
