Default Wheelbase and Camber question

Hey guys I'm planning on making a deck similar to the Bustin spliff with a wheelbase around 23'' with maple veneer. How many plies should I use in order to have a good amount of flex for someone who weighs 165 lbs? Also, I searched and couldn't find any answers but is there a way to make camber using a roarrockit vac bag? Thanks for all your help.

i would use five or six plies, I believe that is what bustin uses.

And in response to your second question, the forum search, while useful, is not a substitute for eyes. the info you want is sticky'd on the first page of this forum, and also printed in the instructions that came with your vac bag.

I was thinking 5 plies as well. I knew that it was mention in the sticky, but I forgot to mention im using an existing board as a mold. I also can't seem to find the instructions that came with the vac bag. Thanks for your help though.

There are 6 plies on the bustin spliff but its still pretty stiff for my weight so I dont see why 5 plies wouldnt work. Most shortboards are 7 plys of maple...

the plys used in board building are 1/16" so, 5 plies is more than 1/4". 1/16" more, to be precise. in addition to most shortboards, most midsize longboards are seven ply, including the 42" bustin complex.
