Sniffleless Presents: The Return of the Graphic Contest!!!!!
We are doing the Graphics Contest again. For those that haven't seen this one before here is how it's played.
1. Conceive a graphics concept. The medium is your call. Paint. Stain. Wood burning. Inlay. Watercolors. Crayons. Whatever.
Style is up to you as well. Realist. Impressionist. Abstract. Dada. Cubist. Cartoon. Whatever.
2. Put said graphic on a skateboard. All entries must be applied to a skateboard to be considered. Make a deck. Buy a blank. Sand down an old deck. Just put it on a skateboard deck.
3. Take photos of your entry and post them in the entry thread I put up.
4. I make a thread with a poll of all the entries. We vote on it. Most votes wins.
5. All entries must be made during the official build period specified. This means it has to be new work. Not something you did last year or whenever.
Timeline:
Febuary is the official "Build Period." All entries must be made during Febuary. I will post the "It's Go Time" thread to kick it off.
You have until the end of Febuary to finish your art.
Entry thread goes up end of Febuary. You have until March 7 to get your entry posted.
Poll goes up March 8 and ends March 15.
So far Loki440 of Roggs Longboards has offered up a board as a prize to the winner.
That being said, this contest is just for fun. So have fun, get creative and get busy.
If you have questions feel free to ask.

But seriously ... does it need to be ride-able like the builder challenges?
yea, does it need to be finished as in clear coats and everything? ALSO is this all original artwork by hand or can u print on rice paper/transparencies? not sayin i will, just wondering what the competition is gunna be like...

"so i see u lookin at me lookin at u...i hope u like ridin the wood as much as i do" LMAO, some things never get old.
If you ask me rice paper/transparencies doesn't soung really right to me, little like cheating even tough there is a process in that to. I don't think it should be allowed
You can enter the same board for this contest and the slalom contest.
The board doesn't have to be rideable. This is all about graphics/art. (although ultimately all skateboards should be made to ride. IMHO) But all you have to enter is the deck. Now if you incorporate trucks and wheels in your design then they should be there.
If you are satisfied with your entry and don't get to clear coat that's your call.
I do allow rice paper graphic entries. Just make sure it's adhered to a skateboard.
One day til "Go Time!"

Oh and only one entry per person.
When we do the entry thread please explain your work. Not motive or thought behind it per se but the process. Tell us how you made it. Paints. Inks. Rice paper. Thermal transfers. Marquette. You get the idea.
On the subject of the rice paper graphics. I figure this could be a sore subject but I figure it will wash out in the voting. However think of some of the effects you could get. Computer generated art can be cool. Although the respect that a good handmade art project is hard to deny.

Question if wee took that 2"x4" and shaped it could we still use it as the template for a masterpiece?
