hey guys. i've been seeing so many threads about building longboards, so since i had a couple weeks off from school, i figured i'd give it a try. its really simple actually, i just bought a 23"/10" plywood board from home depot, cut out the shape, drilled the holes, sanded it, and put a coat of gloss on top. let me know what you think! and i'm thinking about putting some kind of design/logo/graphic on the bottom. any suggestions? thanks!
how thick is it.. the RED FLAG went up as soon as you said HOME DEPOT.. Be really careful at speed on it, those things tend to blow up under any circumstance unless it's 3/4 but even then , the grains are too far apart in that wood and there are lots of voids in the middle layers it has the potential to dish out some healthy roadrash when it gives up on you,
I speak as one of many of us who in the beginning stages tried to use home depot wood. Personaly My first board only made it to the bottom of the driveway before it broke in half right behind the front truck and promptly pancaked me for a heart to hear with the gravel on my street
Actually it's such a short board you might not have any problems at all. BUT I'd still be careful

its about an inch thick and really short, so i dont think it will break. any longer and i would be in trouble! i just built it for fun, so it's not really meant for serious riding, probably just to class or w/e
hey good job! that board is tiny! not my cup of tea. but good job, its a nice looking board, but thats how all things get started. trial and error, in the future, use some BB (baltic birch) but keep dreaming up ideas, and out them on the road!
