It says the board has to be made in the time frame, I don't see anything wrong with using a template you have. You can always template a new template haha. I know loki440 has entered boards that I'm sure he must have already had a template for (glildder grenade) so I don't see why it would be a problem.

Sounds good, i have been wanting to build a dancer, and i just got the materials, so i am in. (i would consider myself a novice builder seeing that i have only ever made one other board and that one was a bit of a disaster) but here goes nothing....

soooo.... when is the next build off going down?? I got a sick idea that I am just waiting to use for the open build
July, at least that's what I've read buried somewhere in the voting thread. I've got something that I'm thinking about also, don't know how special it'll really be, but I think it'll be kinda cool. I just don't know if I can keep it corked that long.
Just so you know there is another Build Off coming in Sept.
The theme is different this time.
Flex, concave, rocker, kicked, cambered.......pick two or more of those and use them in your build.
We want to see it. Flex will need to be shown weighted and unweighted. Which ever ones you choose you need to show degrees and measurements. You know. Show that it has flex, concave, kick, rocker or camber.

to make this accurate you should shorten the time of the contest, not lengthen it.

I have a question... are each of our custom boards going to be different?? or are we all gonna build the same deck? and are you gonna have a "price range" you are looking to spend because that is key in building customs.
I lengthen the build period this time of year because of the holidays and semester finals and all that. Lots of people don't have a lot of time this time of year so I try and give them a little leeway.
No you won't all be building the same board....I hope. I am going to give you builders so room to be creative. I will give you an idea of the kind of riding I plan to do with the board and features that I like and it is up to you the builder to come up what you think would be the best board design.
This is going to be a tougher take on the last theme. You have to keep the client in mind when you are designing. But don't worry too much. Seeing as how this board isn't actually being built for me, I am allowing enough room that you still hopefully get to build a board you like and would want to ride. As self centered as this contest might sound I am still thinking of you builders as I plan this next build off.
I just want to try and mix things up and push the boundaries a little.
