I threw some 85mm 78a Hawgs on my Scimitar. So much fun. Not sure if you have a Scim or an M1. If it's an M1 forget the 85mm wheels, you'll get wheel bite.

If it's an M1 you're mostly limited to Sideset wheels, I believe 73mm. I have 88a 65mm No Skoolz which are centerset on mine right now. They're pretty nice on smooth surfaces and I haven't had wheelbite issues yet unless I stand still and put all my weight on one side. They are designed as a park/pool wheel though. I'm also interested in what other wheels people have used, I've looked into flashbacks but I'm considering other options too
Yeah its just a regular M1, so it does limit the selection a tad. Unless I get out my tools....
Thanks for the quick responses.
get bigzigs and they will be fine. i know on the site it says only up to 72mm but on loose ass trucks with zigs i wasnt even close....if you do run into problems with wheelsbite just sand it down a tad
Sorry to thread jack but i just wanted to make sure about what was said about the gumballs and the bigzigs on the regular M1. You can fit gumballs or bigzigs on an regular M1 without wheelbite? (i believe it its just that i want to make sure because i know Will says specifcally not to go above 73mm). Anyways, if anyone else can verify that gumballs and bigzigs fit that would be sick because i'd rather not pay the extra money for the scim and just ride big wheels on the M1. thanks
Well, I can fit centerset 70mm S9 wheels on mine, and I only get wheel bite if I really crank on one rail. Bigzigs and gumballs are offset, so that may really help. It would be nice if there were more sideset wheels on the market though. Does anyone know the offset spacing on zigs or gumballs?

on the updated site it has the strikers as an option for the M1 but not the gumballs or bigzigs. at least we know strikers work for sure.... also you should check out some of the other options like length choices for the M1 etc. pretty sick stuff.
i have an M1 with gumballs on it and they definitly will bite . i keep the truks just tight enough that i have to work at it to have it happen. the 78a duro is smooth as silk and for most of what i do the biting isn't often, or a problem and they grip very well. i've never crashed because of it. it just slows you quick. if you really want to carve deep without modifying the deck but still want a tall wheel than i would get the side set 77mm strikers, but they won't give the same comfort level as a gumball in the same duro due to the large hub, and hence less urethane meat to dampen the vibration and hits. that being said, i do like my gumBs. big zigs are wider yet and will probably just bite worse at only 1mm shorter than the gumBs. for me though i like the gumBs ability to roll over stuff and overall ride to the point that if it becomes a real problem i would probably trim a tad before i would change wheels.
