So does anyone just completely struggle when commuting far?
For 1, I wear a Camelbak when so I sweat through my shirt sometimes. I work a white collar job and fortunately my boss is kind enough to let me wear plaid or khaki shorts so I just wear a collared shirt. Does anyone skate in 1 shirt then change?
And does anyone else just hate berries more than anything? I was skating to get my haircut and ran over like a million so the bottom of my board got all covered in berry stuff, and today it happened again only it ended up on my shirt. A white shirt. And I hit construction... on a longboard. It was pretty epic.
Oh and one more thing... sidewalk sucks. I skated 2 miles on it.

Chill out, spread the stoke.
i ran over a ketchup packet. gross. right now i dont skate to work, its 30 min away. in acouple weeks im starting a part time job about 2 miles from home so a couple days a week ill be skating the shoulder of a highway. theres a good 6 feet of shoulder, so smooth, hardly any stones and mostly downhill, on the way there anyway.i guess ill need to take an extra shirt. going home will maybe be a drag, but better than a sidewalk

I absolutely hate the berry things that I encounter on my way to the shopping center near me. My wheels and board get covered in berry goop and roll like crap for the other half of the trip.
Also yes, sidewalks were created to end longboarding as we know it.
Right now I am riding a couple blocks out of my way to avoid a jarring, bumpy blacktop road. The road I take is fairly new, pretty smooth, and relatively free of rocks.
In the morning, I leave before 7 am so its fairly cool if not cold. Its more downhill than not and so I arrive to work without breaking a sweat (1.5 miles).
Today I pushed it hard and got home in 8 minutes. Mostly uphill. Sunny and warm. Came home. Hot. Sweaty. Opened the door and the living room felt like an inferno. Changed shirts and switched to shorts.
Fortunately, it never gets too hot here on the coast so I dont think I'll have to bring an extra shirt to work. Might not be a bad idea to stash one in my office though just in case.
Bring clothes in at the beginning of the week, and then bring them home day by day or all at once at the end of the week. Daily might be better when you're dealing with smell. Bring deodorant and some babie wipes so you can clean up when you get in. There's some cool microfiber towels that are very packable and quick drying. I usually have extra socks and some shoes at work in case I get caught in the rain. How far's your commute? Camelbacks are nice, but they leave a wet spot on your back. They are nice for carrying stuff, though.
i skate in my regular clothes and change into my work clothes there, apply some deodorant and clean my face in the bathroom..bam ready to work and looking sexy
yah dude jsut take your shirt off till u get there, its summer anywhay, and have as little bag with deoderant, and maby an extra emergency shirt at your desk?
and lol yes i hate berries, ketchup, god ####, and everything else that gets on sidewalks.

I ride to school everyday and I scarcely (sp?) have a good ride to or from school, here's why:
- My hill is very badly paved so it has alot of gravel on it and in the winter, which is now, it is simply to cold to get any traction on the tight hairpin near the bottom so I have to footbrake for ages then practically walk the corner and jump back on for the smooth section.
- In the winter there is always a head wind on the way too school in the morning and then it switches around about 12:00 and I get a head wind coming h
