LDP on a superglider
i've been experimenting on my superglider for LDP, lately...it seems to work well, but you gotta get it tweaked JUST right, to make any progress. my setup is 149mm rts/x wedged/dewedged 5* (plus the few degrees of built-in wedging on the front), 76mm superballs, rock'n'rons skyrockets...for bushings, up front i have a lime barrel/lemon conical, out back i have a yellow b!tch bottom, yellow bones hardcore top.
foot placement is KEY. i keep my front foot right at the back of the mounting hardware; in fact, i'm considering the thought of putting a toestop on the back right mounting bolt. my rear foot is about 4" in front of the rear truck, right where the deck is tapering back.
one thing i noticed, is that pumping a superglider requires a short, hard, bouncy pump. not a quick, slalom-style pump; not a long, relaxed "LDP" pump...but you really gotta dig into the deck, and really make it quick, and really BOUNCE into the pumps.
the superglider really isn't a LDP deck, but if you get it tweaked just right, you can make it work. like i said, i'm working out how to put a toestop on the back right mounting bolt, and i might even recommend using 66mm superballs instead...the smaller mass will let you pick up speed faster.

:o No, that was useless to me just tell me so I don't have to put that much effort into it.

Re: LDP on a superglider
upon a little closer inspection, it seems my toeside rear wheel is getting a little rub...just enough for the board to make a little groove in the surface of the wheel. i may try putting a blue stim bottom/yellow bones top combo on the rear truck to fix this

Re: LDP on a superglider
well, here's the news...i replaced the 76mm superballs with some 70mm lime zigs, which REALLY improved a lot of things. the whole board is noticably lighter now, and easier to pump.
i put a blue stim/yellow bones setup in the back...which, i find, actually makes it a little harder to pump...might have to change that up.
the front still has the lime barrel/lemon conical on it...i kinda wanna play around with wedging to get it tuned really well. the 'glider has 4* of built-in wedging at the front, and iv'e got another 5* riser on it...and, of course, i got the back at 5* dewedge too.
so, i'll keep you posted with updates and stuff

Exactly. You really gotta roll that bitch quickly.
Great thread. I've been trying to work this as well.
Similar setup to you, (in fact the wedging is identical) though for trucks I'm using the Quick-track Aggros (which turn on a dime) with barrell bottoms and stim tops. It's a new setup for me on this board, and I'm trying to figure out if the non-lathed stims are cutting into the depth of my lean too much or not. I've tried running my trucks a bit looser, but I think maybe I'll switch to some softer bottoms instead. My foot position is roughly the same as yours
I have also found lime zigs to be very good wheels for pumping this board, as well as 71mm Gators in 80a, although they are a bit heavier.

haha, i found a good setup for the RTX...
ready for this?
flipped cup washer on the bottom...white conical/orange conical hourglass bottom...a trimmed blue bones hardcore top. it's gotta be trimmed around the edge to fit into the hanger properly.
it really feels nice when pumping. not as divey as a bennett, which is what i was looking for, but it's plenty turny nonetheless. oh, and i think i'd recommend a toestop on the front truck...my foot was slipping and sliding around something terrible!

Sounds like a great setup! Whatever works for ya.
I'm either an idiot, or can't skate, or both, because I've never been able to control the dive on Bennetts , and I've tried them numerous times over the years. One day I will commit to a Bennett setup on something. It would be nice to be a more well-rounded skater. I've never tried the 6.0s, probably what I'll end up with.
As far as a toestop, I always put a few #10 washers under the back bolts on the front truck mounting hardware on all my setups. Just what I'm used to.

Re: LDP on a superglider
here's the best setup i found thus far...keep in mind, tracker 149mm rtx/s...
front:
wedged 5 deg. (9 deg. total, with the superglider's built-in wedging)
bushings (from deckside up)...flipped cup washer; white khiro cone/orange cone hourglass on the bottom; bones blue hardcore top
rear:
dewedged 7 deg (one khiro soft riser)
bushings...blue tracker stim; lemon reflex cone, flat washer
what i've found is that the 9 deg. provides a really unique pumping feel for the RTX. with a khiro in front, it takes away turning...makes pumping more difficult, and more finicky (you lose momentum quicker). i'm gonna assume that the wedging on the RTS is personal preference, just like slalom...normally i'd use 2 khiros on the RTS, but because the superglider has such a long wheelbase compared to any slalom board, i figured that the less wedging, and therefore more turning, would be best.

Re: LDP on a superglider
after a few more tweaks...my general consensus is that the superglider is not a LDP beast; at least with trackers. i'm gonna put this project aside, for the time being, until i get ahold of a bennett 6.0. if anyone's got one up for trade, let me know.

Me too.
I put my LDP project on permanent hold and went back to my original (and fave) SG setup: Indy 215 front, tracker 184 rear. Bennett clear red vector (top) barrells on the bottom and green stims on top.
Was it TOO tall with the Superballs, or ok but zigzags were just better? I hate tall setups.
I have some 74mm S9 wheels lying around, and I don't know what to put it on. I know it will fit on a Loaded Pintail with no risers, but that's twice as much. If they can fit comfortably on a superglider I'm doing that.
