Hi, I've searched the forums and the gear page, but haven't found much on Surf-Rods longboards. I'm wondering if anybody here has one, and what do they think about it?
Thanks
I have the freeride, zebrawood, aluminum. it is a really well built board, I thought I would have to be carful not to hurt it. the trucks are fun, I only took it up to about 30 tho. seismics wobble like crazy!
any questions just email Wayne, he may even make you a deal...

Yeah - what's the price range on the various models (decks only)? The mat'ls look super high quality. Maybe in the Honey Skateboards or Plank Custom Skateboards realm (read mucho dinero...)
Never rule out getting a custom deck and adding your OWN components to fit your riding needs.
The Thresher and all of the boards can be fullllly tricked out, just check them out, pm me if you have some more questions, I can get you in touch with Wayne G, Mr. Surf-Rodz himself.

Re: Surf-Rods Does anyone have one? Review?
I know wayne pretty well seeing as he lives down the street from me sometimes.
Surf Rods are well, Stiff many plyed hard carving or boardwalking boards (if you put tighter trucks on them) They are thin enough to not get wheelbite and sometimes have a nice piece of carbon or something of that sort on the bottom.
Great quality fun boards. They are huge, yet still pumpable and you wouldnt believe how have little flex can actually help you out when learning.
they actually use bamboo, teak (aka the new bamboo ) , birch, coconut ... etc
and other great material and composite.
The manufacturing and the quality of the product are ones of the best i've seen
New bamboo pintails models are coming soon, and also a new website, a online store and many other interesting things.
Sz also offer a great variety of custom options.
Damn.. when I first saw these boards.. just recently in the latest issue of concrete wave I was like OMG thats it ! I ride a strapped Demonseed.. I put footstaps on all my downhill boards.. people have no idea what theyre missing and the bindings ! footstraps to a windsurfer/strap boarder and thats what I want.. some serious fücking WB !!!.. I'll build it myself outta airex/carbon with pvc sinks for trucks and strap/binding lugs... yea thats it. and I'll put a set of my smokie 190's with TALL 90mm's But as i got to thinkin.. the further out the WB gets the less control youve got over those wheels.. your contact patch to the earth. And if you cant get a board that big sideways its nothing but a death/pen missle. lol I have a 60".. 50" WB wood/glass/epoxy board thats very difficult to slide with any control for me. I generally ride fast with little or no consciousness of self preservation.. Id die on it in an afternoon I'd reckon. Material expense for the deck/pen missle alone will exceed the cost of the complete skate from Surf Rodz. I may still try it though. I't is the prettiest I've ever seen.
edit:This is in no way meant to knock this beautiful product.. I may have to buy it just to get those damn bindings..
