Hey forumers,
First off i wanna say gday cos i'm new haha. But yeah my main reason for joining is recently ive been doing more and more skateboarding and i just set up a cruiser/downhill deck. Its a Krooked Zip zinger on randal 150's and z-smooth wheels. The guy told me to experiment with how loose/tight to make the trucks cos they're very different to my old ones. At the moment i've got both back and front about the same (a little looser than they came stock). In terms of bombing down hills and just cruising around how should i set this up? I get speedwobbles a bit going high speed. A friend told me to try making the back loose and the front tight which i might try but i wanted to hear first hand from some other boarders out there. Cheers,

well i mostly pump and carve so if i were you i would loosen up the front and tighten the back. this will make it more like a surf board, nose moves, tail is set. i can maneuver easier and i find that i can break the back free easier if i need to. it just suits my style.
as for down hills, i would tighten the front and back evenly. seems to work ok but i havent gone crazy with it. also, ive heard to break with your back foot at higher speeds.
as for the wobbels, have confidence and try it more. the more you try it the more they disappear, even if you dont change the setup of your board.
Were the trucks fairly loose when you had the wobbles? I think stock bushings tend to be too stiff to allow nice turns and replacing them with some softer options allows better turning while maintaining good stability down hills.
