help on longboard cruiser that just about does anything
I pretty much have my DH ride all figured out (i hope)
so i need one for daily rides around the neighbourhood and stuffs.
I need a setup that can cruise and is decently weighed so i dun kill myself on long flats.
And maybe something that can slide when the oppurtunity presents itself.
Not looking to spend too much as the DH is already costing me...
I pretty much had these in mind
rayne agent
tracker darts
red bones wheels - i need help here....
If you have any other combo to suggest, please do so..
Re: help on longboard cruiser that just about does anything
I wouldn't put that set up in the category of "something that can slide when the oportunity presents itself"!..this is a bloody 100% slide set-up!!!!! If you are going to cruise and carve and slide occasionally, I'd buy something else like dervish, vanguard, bigfish mosquito, or something with a tail from gravity, comet..etc. If you're going to mainly slide and just cruise from spot to spot, then your setup looks good... I'd say

Yeah, I would rethink your choice unless you plan on doing nothing but sliding. I would think about a superglider, supercharger, or even something from loaded.

I disagree with the other posts. If you have already got a dh setup then I think a Rayne Agent would make a great all around board for everything else. It is plenty wide and has some really functional double kicks. The short wheelbase is really handy for parks and also for maneuverability around town.
I have a dh board setup for bombing and I ride a pool deck for just about everything else. I put on Indy baseplates and have some hangers with slide wheels , park wheels, and some soft wheels for cruising commuting and banks that I can switch out quick all depending on what I want to do.
It's a two board / 4 hanger quiver that really simplifies my skating life.

When nacho posted his comment, that started me thinking if i really could use the rayne agent as much as i would think so, the tail would prove uber useful with all the curbs i would be facing
but i just gave is a second thought and then i obvioulsy considered the dervish with paris with tangs in heat with garver bearings.....

Thats a great idea, 2 board + 4 truck + many wheels switcharoo

You could do it more cheaply with just a set of trucks for each board but if you have more than one set of wheels for your shorter board then Biltin bearings in them would really be handy.

If you are quite "proficienct" in street skating I'm sure park boards are blast to ride through town, but if you are by any chance like me, and aren't even able to ollie I still think that something with just a tail and maybe a little bit of flex and super turny trucks may be a bit better.

i was as you say "proficienct" in street skating a couple years back .... lol
but i am still no pro so maybe a dervish will suit my needs more in my older years..
so its prob going to be
dervish + paris + tangs in heat
