so, here's a question for the more experienced. earlier today i was carving down a pretty big hill. everything was going fine until halfway down when i carved in (facing the hill) my board seemed to get stuck and i flew off it(down the hill). i landed on my back pretty hard but nothing seems to be broken. anyways, i was wondering if anyone had any advice to prevent this from happening. thanks.
did u hear your wheels make and sound? Whats your setup? Also you might have hit a little rock or you could of gotten footbite. This is where your shoe hits the wheel when you carve hard. ( it has happen to me many times)

At the top of a hill at a very high speed there's nowhere to go but down.
while wearing a piece of plastic and foam on your head of course.
Good chance it was wheelbite, where your wheel hits the bottom of your board and stops it. Now!
What's your set up?
Is there a new mark on the bottom side of the board right behind the front wheel?
i ride a 38" loaded vanguard. the trucks i believe are bear 180's (though i'm not entirely sure). wheels are 76mm 78a gumball. and bearing are max abec 5
maybe your momentum just got the best of ya.
keep practicing and keeping your body mass in check while shredding down a hill.

have to say that's happened to me too. usually its a small rock you don't see. i ride a s9 bomb hills and im tiny so i have landed on my back just like you did. but i ride on some really bad roads so maybe you weren't looking out if you're used to clean pavement. keep your eyes open
90% sure that you couldnt get wheel bite on a Loaded Vanny unless you were like doing hard out horrizontal carves and footbite would take a pretty intense carve aswell, so i agree with the rest about the stone or you could done an unexpected slide maybe on the Gumballs?? At least you live to ride another day ;P
A rock probably got in the way of one of your wheels.
I dont think a Vanguard would get wheelbite, but it can surely get footbite.
Just watch for rocks next time.
