-Apex 37, S8s, cell swiss. I just ordered some Abec 11 Strikers (hoping I can still carve but get a little drift too with the 81a duro).
-Custom 45, S10s

I pretty much always ride the Apex, but I still love the 45 - it was my first!

Thinking about a Derringer...

I love Originals and can't think of why anyone would want to ride anything else, but I'm kind of new...

After having my Derringer (which I run red red springs all around now) my style has completely changed. I can't tell you if it's good or bad though.

Good: My carving is monster now
Bad: I carve off all my speed off

Would you want to go very fast on a Derringer? (Probably a silly question)...

Well no, but I'd like to go faster than I normally do. I seem to currently have a mental block that makes start carving real hard whenever I pick up much speed. It might be from watching two friends take two Custom 45s with S10s down a hill at 45mph.

We're still talking about your Derringer, right? We were just wondering about this yesterday. My friend just got a Derringer with S6s and we're talking about putting S10s on just to see. It seemed like a great idea but we weren't sure if it would work...

Oh no. The Custom 45s were setup with completely tightened down S10s for the hill. My Derringer has S6s with red springs, it's an incredibly stable carver for the size of the board. S10s always give me the bigger sweeping carves and I'm not sure I'd want them on the Derringer just because those carves don't drop a lot of speed and your stance is so short on the Derringer.

Did you friend get the model with natural color and the blue logo or the new one that's black with the red logo? I really want to see a picture of the new black Derringer.

Oh, ok. That makes sense.

He got a natural color Derringer. I didn't know they had black ones, that probably looks sweet. People around here don't buy Originals, for some reason, so this one was sitting on the shelf for ages and is probably older. His brother bought it for his b-day.
