I just bought a sector 9 34" cosmic sun board... and since im new to longboards, which wheels, bearings, and trucks would you recommend for a fast and smooth ride.

ps. would you recommend shock pads?
Did you buy a complete board(came with trucks/wheels/bearings) or just the longboard deck?
If it did come with all the necessary components, go shred around on those. Sector 9 doesn't have the best stock setups, but they work perfectly fine for a beginner like yourself.
Don't worry about getting all the best gear until you absolutely need to replace the things you have now.
If you're looking for a specific answer to your question though, here is what daddies
board shop recommends:
Paris or Randal 150mm (trucks)
Abec11 Retro ZigZags 70mm Red 78a OR Abec 11 Flashbacks 70mm 78a (wheels)
DBS ABEC 7 Bearings (keep in mind, a bearing that will spin will do the trick and by no means will the expensive ones perform better at beginner speeds, Bones Redz are always a reliable pick imo.)

Totally agree with Thatoneguy, the complete board setups are not top notch by any means, but for noobs or us old guys gettin' back into skating they are pretty decent...just got back from a decent session on a Bert Scribble Sec 9 complete and it rocks for me...I'm an old guy(50) and big too...6 ft. and 260 lbs.....carried my wrench with me and did some constant adjusting on the front truck to reduce wobbles...finished up with a nice long carve all the way to my driveway...close to a half mile all the way in, nice speed, and great control....diggin' it...ride safe.
