Longboard Cruisers, Carving, Commuting, Long Distance Pumping and BoardwalkingWhen it's all about the ride, the general discipline of riding a longboard.
My daily skate was tiring, The wind was not my friend for much of the 20 miles I skated Xwinds and Headwinds though I did get to run downwind on my biggest hill which was nice

terrible skate today, haha at the end right when I was finishing up on my way home I rolled up to a curb leading to a stop sign and tried to show off and do a speedcheck into it stoping at the last second, I went through a puddle right before because I thought if I braced myself I would be able to control it.... well I land on my hand and feel somethink crack. I crushed my finger yay

Tonight we got out for the first time in almost a week (f'ing snow) and took a night cruise! It was swell, we hit a pretty decent hill then a long gentle slope that still gets going pretty fast. I started getting the death wobbles but carved/loosened up enough to get rid of them and I didn't puss out so I'm proud of myself. Then I actually footbraked on a hill that I usually don't even try to brake on so I'm extra-proud. THEN *deep breath* I broke in my new helmet by getting mocked from a distance by punk-ass pre-pubescent skateboarders! Yay!
The whole thing was pretty damn great.

Skating down this small hill in a park, there's a perfect symetrical hill at the bottom except there are small stone patches and we try to get as far as we can up the hill . Good to know if you're tucking right etc etc.
Met some pretty cool people, and hung out with em all weekend haha.
Saturday we went to the beach. Burning hot in socal. The blisters from the sand, but nothing can kill a good sesh .

A week before a few days ago, and up until then it's been about 45-50*, and very, very sunny. I've been skating in a t-shirt, and it's felt very nice. Well two days ago, it cools down under freezing again, and begins to snow. By the time the day's all done and said there's 22-28" across down.
Yesterday was cool we went downtown and the parking garage security said if they catch us again there taking us to the cops skated way up to some of are other friends house and then skated some more! was a pretty good day. but today its raining

Re: How was your daily longboarding ride/s?
Making a video of me taking a run I am afraid to do on my DH board with a Hobie from the 70's and it's missing half its hardware lol. It's not the speed that's scary it's the huge cracks
Well it sucked actually.
I got home from my daughters communion, quickly changed from my suit to jeans and grabbed my new Dervish and ran out the door. I desperately want to learn sliding, so I tried it while on a downhill run. I carved hard and kicked the rear out on the board without thinking about how to recover. I hit the blacktop like a sack of potatoes. Now my right arm hurts and my palm is scratched up. Luckily the Dervish was OK

Demetri
my cousin lives out in Poughkeepsie, last time I went there I was so angry with myself for not bringing any boards, some nice hills there.

Another great day at Wheelabrator....I put in two runs on my DH board before switching to my Freeride board for the rest of the day, lots and lots of runs, I am happily tired

Just skated home, it was good stuff. I managed to make it very effortlessly, and got a nice bit of consecutive blocks on a DH segment. Had to flip off some drivers when I crossed streets, but nothing serious.
Tried out a new road in a fairly low-traffic neighborhood yesterday, the majority of it was pretty nice- mellow hills, pretty smooth turns and smooth pavement, but every 10-20 feet there were these gaping cracks that opened in the street like deep, cavernous chasms into HELL. Somehow my bf managed to miss every one but I think I hit every one of them.

went cruising in a parking garage for a while with my cousin and brother. cousin got tripped up lost his board. and a car tagged it, snapping it in half it was a arbor fish with some randall 180's.
Thankfully the trucks and wheels survived fine, but the deck is definitely toast... new additions on the way.
