Longboard Cruisers, Carving, Commuting, Long Distance Pumping and BoardwalkingWhen it's all about the ride, the general discipline of riding a longboard.
i spent about four days in Myrtle beach with my carve stik. on the 17th i decided to get out of my hotel and hit the streets. The roads were crappy but i still had fun watching all the sick cars, the FINE women and listening to all the music blasting. Id say i went for about 3.5 miles riding around and soaking up all the compliments like, "man thats sick"/ "see that there kids, thats a real skateboard, rides like a cadillac!"/ (from about 8 people sitting in a huge pick up) "dang!, look at that there, look how wide it is, what is that?"
- btw my bro was behind me on a regular trick deck
-so he saw a group of skaters hangin out so we went over there to talk to them and they ended up skating around and playing a game of skate... the police came and we all split down the back roads as fast as possible.
DAY 2
-after coming in from the beach i changed and took the Stik across the street to a huge parking deck for my hotel. I took the elevator up to the top and made my way down to about the 3rd floor(from like 8 or something) and decided to go back to the top. About 5 minutes later a security guard pulls up giving me $#!T and asking what room i stayed in and all that BS, so he just told me to leave and that was that.
-the day passed by and night came, time again to hit the streets. I rode about the same distance and relitively the same route exept for more back roads and A LOT MORE PEOPLE DODGING. It was packed on the side walks so everynow and then when the road was clear id skate out into the road and get some distance past the crowds
- i took a break at the pier and copped some ice cream too
- i saw a lot of skate boarders/ one of those 2 wheeled boards/ and some fat white dude hanging out with a bunch of other bumbs on the corner all blasting music and smoking( all that bs) he had some no name dancer with trick deck trucks and skateboard wheels!!!haha
---the rest of the crap is too long, basically myrtle beach is a pretty tight place to cruise around at.
PEACE
got bored and rode my dregs classic piner around. i know i haven't rode many cruisers but dadgumit it is smooth. i had too chsngeits just soomthgits just some change the wheels and trucks but th concave and convects are awsome for a cheap bored. i roll on it when i have been down the wheels a654321

Mine was awesome. A friend and I found this super steep (I really do mean super steep... like it's hard to walk up kind of steep) pathway that goes into a nice 90 degree right hander. You come into this corner at probably 40 or 45 km/h if you start from the top. You have to predrift like a madman otherwise you'll go into the trees. It's such a fun corner. We were only there for about half an hour and I coned my superballs. Mmmm don't you love the smell of melting urethane?
man today i was in a shopping center loitering with my friends at this one frozen yogurt place like we do every weekend. anyway, i had my board in my trunk and bust it out with my gloves just to mess around because they have just repaved the entire parking lot. oh my God it was heaven and i expected the wheels to break loose and they did when i wanted them to and i felt like i was in tokyo drift haha. lame i know but it was perfect and i couldnt have asked for better wheels. the flys were amazing. it sucked because the guys all went to skate a garage but i promised the rents i couldnt because im going to tomorrow at the Muir Skate event (check out the next thing in San Diego or whatever thread for info) so i went with the girls to watch a movie (didnt hate it i guess). but daaaamn that new parking lot with predictable wheels was amazing. i was just hating on them a few posts ago, i dont know if it was in this thread, but i've since changed my mind. theyre so much fun. just wish they were a little smaller. 97mm is HUGE.
The past two days have included two sudden stops due to inattentive drivers.
And whats the deal with dogs? Especially small dogs. They do not like longboards...
yeah i've noticed that. whenever i pass a dog, half the time it'll chase me, half the time it'll freak out and scurry away in fear. the 2nd i understand, but the first? it's as if the dog gets set off by seeing a human travel much faster than is normal...
i'm sure they're just being playful but i get worried about a dog sticking its leg in front of a wheel.....for both my sake and the dog's....
I think dogs can hear ball bearings spinning. And it drives them crazy. That's my lame theory. There's a block-long abandoned warehouse around the corner from me on the best-paved street in and out of the neighborhood. I skate by it a few times every day. And every time these two crazy German shepherd guard dogs hear me coming, start barking like it's the first time all over again, then race me to the end of the block. Thank god for chain link. (PS: I swear they get more excited when my bearings are clean.)
i just got back from skatin all night. what i love about the Chinook is you can go bert slidin in a parking lot, then go find a nice hill and carve till you get tired. i find it funny how pretty much everyone has a sector 9, or some other board, but when they see my landyacht they act like theyve never seen it before, even tho thyere bouncing back 100x more in the past 3 months.
It was too hot today...but I still skated, A couple of runs with some buds at Wheelabrator until they took off to find someplace to swim I ended up hiking the BP 3 more time before the heat chased me away. Wheels stick really well when the ground is hot enough to fry an egg

a friend is going away to college so she was using one of my boards today to see if it would be worth buying one for travelling around campus. she was okay on it, she could keep going for more than 20 ft so theres hope. anyway, here dad thought it looked like fun so he had to try it out. he spent more time on it than she did and was having a great time until he tried to turn, bust ass, threw it in the grass and stormed up the steps into the house. awesome. then later i saw him at church and he was walkin funny. today was pretty good. though i didnt really ride much.

got a warning the other day for bombing a hill cruisin roughly 30 mph and blew through a stop sign. cop told me to ride on the side walk and stop at stop signs also...
went riding for the first time in almost a week today cuz i went down and had a phat patch of roadrash. i was so unsure of myself that i couldnt even take it. i kept second guessing so i had to stop. it was too dangerous...
I almost had a tragedy today when the bf and I found out that my new board is faster than his. I was cruising along behind him and a car was coming up the hill at us, I said "hey scoot over!" or something and he didn't and I almost smacked right into the tail of his pintail. The car went by and he moved over at the last second, but for a second I thought I was going to be hurting.
Other than that everything was great! I took my Dervish on my usual cruise home from work and had 3 times more fun just dicking around, then made it down a hill that usually scares me too badly for me to make it down all the way. Mega stoked on today's run!

it was raining hard all day so i went to a garage but on the last corner there was heaps of water, resulting in lots of sliding out and grazed elbows. Still fun though, i wanted to learn to coleman but i cant even get near it, i just slide n then stop, i think i just need to go faster. oh yeah and i left my slide glove on a bench, ####.
I was just cruising around town yesterday. Alternating between pushing and pumping, until I found this newly pawed bikepath. Perfect for someone like me who just learned to properly pump a week ago. So away I went.
After some time everything looked unfamiliar. Very unfamiliar! I stopped and asked a nice old man how far away I was from home. And apparently I had been (mostly) pumping for eight miles. It was GREAT! Until I remember I had to ride back as well. So I found some water and went back. Greatest trip ever! I'm going again today
me and xxguitarist set a really good slalom course friday night so before todays rain I went back last night and put black dots down on all the chalk marks. Since I was there I decided that I had a free hour so I threw out my cones. Now going back to a course you've spent 2 hours running a day later is interesting. I knew the lines already, well I thought I did, but I actually end up changing my line into and out of the offsets...over then hours I took nearly 3 seconds off my time

Today was a short ride, just over to Pavilions to pick up some quarters for laundry, then down the street to HSS so I could pick up some spare bushings. Wish they had some Khiros there...That'd be nice. Tommarrow's gonna be an all day thing though. Planning out the route for an event I'll be holding. It's gonna be sick.
Hot here in Houston, and I'm getting close to wheelbite on my EW Superglider setup. I've been laying low due to ankle/heel pain. It felt good to pump and let my hair fly in the wind before I shave it all off this week.
