Longboard Cruisers, Carving, Commuting, Long Distance Pumping and BoardwalkingWhen it's all about the ride, the general discipline of riding a longboard.
My longboarding buddy and I were chilling at my house and he had both his boards here when some of his friends I don't know very well called him and asked him to go longboarding, and he was like, "Well, I'm at Danny's" and they're all like, "Perfect, we'll be right there!" So I let one borrow my supercharger while I rode my Loaded Pintail and one borrowed my friends other board and the other two had their own boards and the six of us cruised around for like 3 hours. So awesome!
So my roommate and I make a trip up to VCU to meet up with some of my friends from NoVa and celebrate my main man, charlie's, birthday. i brought my pintail and a h of Soco knowing that my friends were going to bring there dervishs. we arrived there a little early so 3 of us brought out our boards to ride while we waited for the beer runs to come through and the music to start bumping. we ended up finding a decent bank ramp thing not to far from the apartment. andres nailed a nice old school kickflip combo and some perfect adam&adam g-turns as usual. tohj was out with us walking-out some smooth body turns and toeside cross step combs on the flat. i nailed a decent g-turn that i was happy with for once and few other combos and almost nailed a few f/s powerslide shuv-its down but damn that trick. a chilly night but nice for riding, a good little ses before getting shithoused.
anyway, the beer runners show up and the music starts thumping. dance party all night and got shithoused fo'sho. long story short it was a fun, long, night.
we woke up hagerd and got some food at the shafer cafeiteria. we went back to the apartment and broke out our longboards for another ses, this time with 3 dervishs and my pintail. we skated in the street while everyone else w/o a board sat to watch and chill and take turns riding. 3 ghetto, thug looking fellas walked up saying "yo mayn lets dem trix. flip dat hoe". andres showed them up with a smoooooth cross step-double body turn-gturn combo. the 3 guys gave us props and let us be. it had been a while since i was last able to ride w/ my all homies from home so the ses was awsome. after chilling and screwing around w/ some combos and new ideas, we migrated back inside the apartment and packed up a ghetto rig. the talking went from obama to joking on old power rangers to dreaming about amsterdam, some good laughs and smiles. we ended the trip with some good daps and my roommate and i peaced out and headed back down to norfolk. it was was kick ass weekend.
i did this really cool banked right hand hairpin that you drift then just cruised around and did a pretty big hill i've never done before i'd say maybe 35? because i get the speed wobbles on my board around 30 and i had mad speed wobbles so pretty good day
I hit my first-ever parking garage. 14 levels of tight turns and ramps. No security, no one there at all. I had a truly Zen moment of being totally THERE. Hard to explain, but wow.
Oh. And I accidentally learned how to pump wiggling to some calypso.
Since the new evo has the green graphic, does that mean the board will go faster? I heard they used a lighter paint, which makes the board lighter and faster?:-k
Amazing. Just got my new Timeline pieced together and really dialed in. Absolutely pimp, pumps like a dream. Makes my old Carbon Trylam feel like there's sand in the trucks or something, just carves soo smooth. Been trying to make it out to one of the best (and only) hills in Florida, Sugarloaf Mountain, but I can only go on thursdays.... and it rains every single thursday There's always next time.

I was thinking about getting the Timeline, is it worth buying?
today i put my dancer back together after a winter hibernation ( i put the hardware on my schlong) it was great to have 3 extra feet suckin up bumps underneath me dancing and boardwalkin alllllllllll day long... it was great for a first ride of the season, great times beautiful day nice dry roads and smooth pavement, getting back into my dancing habits throwing together them sick lines... ugh nice to be back man
I was out for the first F##King run of the summer. considering its canada it was still snowy and icy and ####. so ive been out for a while now and i was crossing the street... nothing not perfectly illegal. i even had one of those little light thingers tellin me to cross, anyways some crazy chick runs me down! like blatantly runs me down. i tried to avoid the psycho but i steped down in ice.. i fell inches away from the suvs tires and the ass broke my kracked skulls in two!

my nine year old and I rode one of the garages out at UC Santa Barbara today. We visited the nano technology exhibit in the engineering buildings, and rode the adjacent parking garage. It was very mellow, but still lots of fun. Jeremiah beat me down every time, but he was pushing, and I was only pumping. We also went for a 1 mile and 3 mile ride in the neighborhood. It sure is good to be back in town. Spent the week in the cold and snow of Ohio. Brrrr.
Jeremiah is into scootering, as in razor, but that's ok by me. I'm hoping someday he will gain interest in the longboards in the garage.
I have been taunted by the snow for the past 2 months and with the sun out, enough melted to fit in a messy 6 mile cruise. It was greatly needed and I haven't felt this amped in a whie. Amazing what a little skating can do after so much time without it. Even got to bomb a couple hills, talk about a good day.
the other day we discovered a newly paved neighborhood it was so much fun we started at the top which is about a half mile of straight slightly downhill street then it gets steeper as it heads down into an s-turn and as soon as you come out of that you have a right hairpin it was so much fun especially with all the little kids on the school bus yelling "do a trick" haha
Today I went out for a little 2 hr carving sesh on a local hill. Got my friend who short boards to try longboarding and had a fun time watching him bail he got pretty good though and his hooked. I hate drivers who cut you off, almost got killed twice today, its all good though no scrapes. I also finally got slides on my mini-carve.
I cruised for about 1.5 miles while taking my dog out for a walk. I used my little sis's board, 'cause you can't pump my avenger (speed setup). Have tons of home work, otherwise I would have been out longer. I still managed to practice some street ridin on my mtb, and rode my board. I might go out late at night if I finish my work in time.
i've been stuck inside all year cuz of the snow so i took my new lush spooky out for some practices but the snow was melting so it was mushy snow and water and ice everwhere so i slide all over and crashed into the snow banks and got all wet but i was out for about 2 hours for the first time all year it was nice.
