Longboard Cruisers, Carving, Commuting, Long Distance Pumping and BoardwalkingWhen it's all about the ride, the general discipline of riding a longboard.
Awesome. It was one of the only dry and warm enough weather days in months, and the incoming winter storm made our soon to be taken away entertainment all the better at the moment. Went with my three homies who I convinced to pick up longboarding. None of us are that great at it, but I'm pretty sure todays ride got everyone back into the idea that you don't really live if you don't longboard. And we convinced another friend to buy a board! The contagin is spreading...
It was legit! I couldn't find anyone to go to dutch bro's with me, so I went by myself. I just put a rad bushing combo in my gnome, and it's wayyyy awesome. Blue and orange khiro double barrel in the back with a flipped hangar and white and orange in the front unflipped. This thing basically pumps itself, and the rebound is amazing compared to stock randal bushings. I pumped almost the whole way there, got some coffee and came back. I can't wait to attempt to drift parking garages this week on my new paris 180's with lime retro freerides! I'm so stoked!

Re: How was your daily longboarding ride/s?
Took a ride yesterday and a got over confident. My board doesn't turn well and my toe side wheels picked up. Lost balance only about 8-10mph. I fell backward and hit my head. I wasn't wearing my helmet. I know... I'm stupid. My neck hurts pretty badly but my head is fine.
Found some sick hills today, BRAND NEW pavement! The hills themselves aren't toooo big but pretty nice size, the smoothness makes them much faster than they would be if they were old streets. My buddy got sick death wobble when he hit the brand new double yellow lines and he ate it pretty good, gnarred his hand and burnt his fingers from the friction of the smooth road..
Still a good session, got some good pics and footage until he ate it haha

Went riding in town next to my grandmothers house all afternoon and evening. Just cruising the hills in town on my Evo - was beautiful weather today, 60's and sunny. Taught my cousin from Indiana how to push around today! Was cool and he got it down in a few tries and was having a blast in the parking lot I took him to. Great day.
Rode the hill right in front of my house, had a helmet on, but sadly a helmet won't protect your wrists and knees. Let's just say I ended up sliding without slidegloves or a longboard...
found a 6 story parking garage on private property that i hadnt seen b4...got 3 runs in with my best bro it was really nice ride, but then saw a woman across the street on her phone so we decided to split.....hit a red light at the intersection and saw 3 cops go flying by into the garage haha they stood there and watched me stash our boards in the back seat....we got pretty lucky
went and bombed some hills on my cruiser, probly not the best idea....
ended up losin my balance after this crazy zig zag turn and destroyed my headphones and made a nice big hole in one of my favorite shirts, not to mention some gnarly road rash on my arm.........
all in all, a pretty exciting day

Re: How was your daily longboarding ride/s?
cruiiised around the neighborhood hit some big hills on my 6 year old s9 cloud9 cruiser (i havent changed the set up at all haha, no maintenance) a little sketchy, but i got used to it, itll make me appreciate my other boards much more when i go back to school hahaha
bought a dervish for my brother today haha, so we went cruising/dancing around the neighborhood till after sunset. twas fun. now we have a loaded dancer and dervish in our family
So I just got back into skating again, after a break of a few months, and decided to take friday off to go for a great skate with my mate Trey.
We meet up and skate towards this old school skate park, which has a nice bowl and a pool bowl. Nothing much, but a great place to hang and learn to skate, and spark up ;D. So after hitting that up for a short while we decide to head out for some hills. It wasn't too long till I stumble upon this no exit driveway, which seemed like a good idea at the time! We skate into it, getting some alright speed, till we get to a slight hill, nothing steep. So deciding it wasn't that great we go up the hill a bit just to get some speed to get back to where we started. Down we go on this one lane, small driveway, smooth road. And damn did I go fast!!! I was flying, but then the skaters worst nightmare happened. A family sized porshe took up the whole damn driveway infront of us!!! Luckily they had stopped to get mail, and there was the tinyest gap in the road, so I head for it and jump through cause there was noway of skating through it. And Trey followed after me, doing a roll, I go flying into a run.
It was intense! Glad I didn't hurt myself! haha.
Anyway, we head outta there after getting the evils and find this amazing hill. To your right is the sight of the Orakie basin {[ http://week60.aotearoacam.com/IOrakeiBasin%20394.jpg ]} and it's a smooth winding road, around four lanes wide. No traffic! Me and Trey just carve the whole road up getting amazing speed, the best skate I've had. Perfect Speed and everything!
It was okay. Went out at 12:20 at night or so with a friend of mine and skated for about a mile to an Amtrak station where we proceeded to work on our manuals. It was all good until my friend tried to ollie my board and ended up breaking it so now I'm left without a deck Luckily my trucks were still intact so I'm halfway done with putting the wheels on this crappy Wal-Mart skateboard deck until I get my new deck (still deciding where to buy it from, maybe Welcome to xvd Longboards).
My buddy and I skipped part of school today (nothing was going on and stuff was closing anyway) and skated at the skate park late afternoon and all evening until dark. Fun!! Park was really busy today because it was absolutely perfect weather. Most variety of riders I've seen at the park today too: street skaters, myself on the longboard (NS Eclipse again), lots of scooters, one tricycle (lul), lots of BMX riders, and one freestyle unicycler! Seeing someone grind a rail down the pyramid on a unicycle is badass. Guys were ripping today with some awesome transitions and some steezy grabs from the street guys and some wicked spins from the bikes. Was a blast to ride there today and watch too.
On the way back to our cars I was messing around on the park road. Did my favourite corner there a few times. Was reminded on the third time around why I don't like drifting my Bennet 'Gators when it high sided and I bruised my shin up. Overall, was an excellent day!! Super stoked.
amazing!
tried some new hills and chilled with my buddy.
got some energy drinks.
went back down a hilll and hit 35 mph (im proud lol)
went to the park. met a really cool longboarder. longboarded with him for an hour.
went home and now im typing this. 4 hrs of longboarding that i thouroughly enjoyed =D!
