Longboard Cruisers, Carving, Commuting, Long Distance Pumping and BoardwalkingWhen it's all about the ride, the general discipline of riding a longboard.
I just got back from Steamboat Springs, CO and it was so much fun. Tons of mild hills (at my speed) and a great bike path that runs through the town. I am so stoked and cannot wait until my two year old son can ride with me. Next year he is getting his first board and we are going back to Steamboat!
^ ^ awesome.... my son started when he was like 3.... and my 2 yo girl is getting good at balancing and coasting. my son like my longboard more than his tony hawk.
gopd day in the garden, I finally got comfortable in a tuck
That surprises me. For some reason I figured you had that along with everything else pegged. Are your quads, knees and hammies a little tight today? Sunday morning was good. This is a little dip at the end of my court where I'm practicing tucks now for a bigger hill around the corner. Spent an 80 minutes bombing down and pushing back up. Had a decent headwind and only got up to 13.2 on my Deeznutz. I pulled the bearings on my Pagan, popped seals on a new set and added some SnapOn spot lube w/teflon for a test. Hit 16mph on the 2nd and third run. Fun and promising considering I was running into a wind.

Yesterday was the first time since I broke my ankle that I could comfortably hold a tuck and be stable in turns....I could drop into a tuck but I had to grab a rail more to hold myself up than for leverage whenever I came to a turn Quads knees and Hammies are fine, my ankle is a bit tight but it was yesterday when I called it a day so I was expecting that. My cadence is off by about 10% today commuting so I know i spent my legs but I'm very happy with how yesterday felt, all my commutting time on a Fixie this summer has paid off

my daily ride wasn't as cool as usual... turns out an old woman neighbor called the fuzz and told them there's a guy who rides a big skateboard down the road real real fast all the time, and she thinks its dangerous. So they sat up the block at the bank yesterday till they saw me bomb from the red light down to my house. Then they pulled in and talked to me, they were nice, and asked me to please stay off the road. I'm pissed.
i was carving down a pretty steep hill. then out of no where i go flying in the air!but then as i know it the board is still under me so i fall on top of it. so now im going down a hill laying down.but other than it was a fun longboarding day

yeah i came across the "how to skog" thread and it really got me excited to try out. so now i am pretty good with the 'other' foot forward. took about 2-3 weeks to get where i am now.
Sounds like she needs to mind her own god damn business. You (assumably if your going fast) are wearing full protection and are aware of the risks. You arent putting her in harms way, or doing anything to really provoke this response. This sounds like it sucks even more cause, having big hills close to your house rocks, but now you arent allowed to ride them.

I needed to unwind after work, so I went and did a few laps around Green Lake (small lake in Seattle, 3 miles around). It would have been a lot better if people who were walking knew which lane they were supposed to be in...
5 of my crew showed up and we worked up a massive sweat in the heat and humidity bombing the dip and pushing back up. Pagan, Deeznutz, Knuckleduster, Demon, Camel Toe, Black Bird and Chinook was the selection tonight. Pagan held the top run of 15.9 for awhile. None of us on any of the other boards could best it.
Until on a garage break, I broke out the Ghoti Manatee. RII's with stock bushings but the only one with Biltins and green zigs. phhhht! 17.1mph. Same family of wheels as the Pagan which has the pink zigs. They're all asking me where they could get the Forerunner and if Walmart might have it.
