just because i know someones going to say it.. yes i know i need to wear knee pads.. im going to get some soon for sure.
did the same thing monday before last. put some neosporin on the rr and cover with saran wrap. use some masking tape to hold it all together. also got rr on the right hand knuckles, right elbow and on top of right shoulder. got some nice scabs going now. only difference? i have pads and didn't bother to wear them. luckily had the wrist protection on.

first time out for the pro model, fedex left it on the front porch this morning. pumps like a champ. really loose bushings but it is stable. not wobbly like some other boards. have to start taking the longer way to work-bike trails all the way.

haha i had some sort of thing on my hands so thank god they got saved. im tired of getting them scared up. i got knee pads now though, so im ready for another go at the hill. what should i do to my randal 180s to make them more stable? switch out the baseplates from 50 to some 42s or 35s?
i put the randal stock bushing on boardside and a venom 85 barrel on the other just now. im going to try it out tomorrow(along with my new knee pads)

depends on how much you weigh. bushings in the 90's will make things more stable but you loose some of your carve. have green randal bushings in the 180's on my neme and the thing is solid as a rock carves nice too (183#). try the bushing change before changing the angle. how fast are you skating?

PM your snail mail and I'll send you a skogging sweat towel!
I'm in Texas ripping the terrain up with the locals now on my Pro Deck and amazing how people look at the basic design and say WOW, that looks old skewl. Then they see the ride, the glide and the turn and the movements and suddenly the awareness increases of what pedidexterity is all about.

oh yea!!! this board reminds me of my first board (1960s) solid and predictable. keep up the good work.

i got no clue how fast im skating but its definatly nothing crazy fast.. and with the randal stock boardside and the venom 85s roadside it is WAY better then before. its so much more stable and i can actually have some confidence carving down a hill i think itd be nice to get a 42* bp just to try it out. i mean for 15-20$ thats not too bad. plus i heard the 42* randals are very very low compared to the rest of the randals.
todays ride was fun. i felt so much more confident and i went adventuring and found a lot of new places to ride, no whipe outs either overall - great ride. wish i wasnt the only rider around :[

if you got the pasos go for all the truck/bushing changes you can afford. best way to learn and develop a set-up for you. before you know it you'll have a board quiver, wheel quiver, truck quiver...
"plus i heard the 42* randals are very very low compared to the rest of the randals."
make sure you leave room for carving. get it too low you might have to use risers or a smaller wheels.
today i scoped out every road on the way to work. had the typical down hill to the flats @1 mile, then thru a slanted parking lot at the hospital. next was a road with no stop signs for the traffic direction skated. next a small down hill to the bottom and onto the flats. across a pedestrian bridge and onto a bike trail. 2 1/2 miles to work, peice of cake, usually. today 20 mile an hour head wind gusting to 40 mile an hour. had to push the whole way. if the foot wasn't pushing i wasn't moving. sucked for the whole 1/2 hour.
know how you feel not having anyone to ride with. no one around here longboards and my sons just look at me funny when i talk about them using one of my boards. hang in there someone will show up and be interested. might even be a cutie

that sucks about the wind dude, but atleast it wasnt raining.. then youd really been pist off haha. oh and im holding off on the 42s. i think the 50s are doing just fine. anyways i made some slide gloves.. tis why im up so late.. i hope to try them out tomorrow. used gorrilla glue, old gloves, cutting board. i hope it works
ill post pics and what not tomorrow if theyre worthy. skating by yourself isnt all bad.. but yeah im gunna go get my friends from school to ride my board and hopefully 1 of them will get hooked

I went to class, I came home, I went to my sister's, I came home.
that was the extent of today's riding.
oh ya, I tried my friend's goddess for like 30 seconds, but I was sketch about wheelbite.

Havent gotten to ride today, so its been like 5 days or so since my arm got messed up. But the elbow is 100% and the shoulder is about 90% so once I get back home on monday, I get to ride. I;ve got some helmets and paddin in the mail too.
Anyhow I had a great session today. My initial disappointment at the sprinkling mist turned into glee when I realized my skate spot was totally deserted (except some young deer,) that I wasn't going to sweat my ass off walking uphill, and most importantly, low speed pendulums in the wet are good practice and incredibly fun.
Best of all, I finally got over my "fear" of a certain corner that I've been footbreaking for since I crashed there in April, and hit it faster today in the wet than I did all summer when it was dry.
