I love cruising especially afternoon and nights. I'm what you would call one of these shady character so the other ones usually leaves me alone. Me and my friend Mary J usually goes out friday night to look at the herds of monkeys as the barjump, bushf***s, and shows off with who ate the most during the day (I think it's a mating ritual). Superfun and relaxing with some sweet hiphop from the 90's pumping loud in the earphones..

Agreed, "keep it moving" is a good rule of thumb for those areas of the city.

It always puts me off just a tad when streetfolk ask how much my board cost me, too...

I dont talk to people while i skate, i also give off an air off "im an asshole skater punk" and having skated all over the US and in a few countries on the side i have rarely been harassed.

Cruising is awesome! I always cruise around! It feels so nice when I got free time and I cruise down to the store to get some soda and snacks!

I can't be content with just "cruising". The whole point of skating to me is being ninja and proficient with my vessel. Cruising to me involves flip tricks, early grabs, slides and cross stepping. Whats the fun in just kicking and standing..maybe pumping or carving. IDK, just cruising does not compute.

Totally agree! Its the core of longboardin. Nothing like a summer cruse.

Absolutely! Little better than perfectly smooth, deserted concrete preferably on a hot summers night.

Cruising is definitely the aspect of longboarding I love to do the most. Its just so fun to ride without a destination and just the cool, Tampa breeze blowing. Lots of USF kids just cruise, too.
