Default New to LongBoarding in general

Hello! Thank you for taking your time to read this thread and I hope that you will be able to help me find a longboard.

First of all I am completely new to longboards and am looking to you guys to help me find a board as previous stated . Anyways I am just looking for a board to ride around the neighborhood for joyrides or something. My price range is under 200 and looking for a completed one. I would consider making one if it was easy enough. I am 6-2 and 170 pounds. I have size 12 feet.
Thank you guys Sorry for my noobiness

Sorry for beeing kind of an ass, but...

Why spend 200 on a board for just cruising the block. There are millions and millions of boards for different riding styles. Have you done any kind of research yourself to find a board that you could be interested in buying? We are not the ones who are supposed to ride your board. I can easily tell you what I would have gotten for 200 but maybe thats not what floats your boat, even if it might be good ****. My tip is to do research by yourself, read around on the forum and look for info and you will find tons of it.. All this threads kind of end the same way, eartwhing supermodel, mini/super shaka, any board by loaded because they have badass movies and so on and so on.. Look for your own board and when you find some that you are interested in if you have questions, ask and hopefully you will get answers.. Good luck in getting a board that will be great for you..

Start at cocaine right? No. Go buy what you want, the first buy is normally a cheap impulse buy. If not, that may have just been me

Meh, my first board was a gift, I had no idea what I was doing at that point. (Besides having a **** load of fun) I'd suggest getting yourself an Earthwing Supermodel, Sector 9 Super Shaka, or an incline fro pick. You'll never really be able to pick out a board with any amount of research, because you'll constantly encounter the fact that boards are all preference. You've never had a board am I right? Get yourself something that looks fun, ask somebody for some truck and wheel help and ride the **** out of it. Once you have that you can decide what you like and what you don't like and adjust from there. That's my take on it.

If you want to help keep your costs down do youself a favor and one or all of the following steps:

Look into Earthwing or Jet boards.
    Go through Longboardskater.com
If you're going through LBS, Use the SILVERFISH coupon code.

Those three steps will help keep you under, on, or around 200 bucks for a complete.
