I have seen people on this web put bindings on there longboards, i want to do it to because it looks fun to do the jumps and all that stuff, but is it realy a good idea if you stack or fall on your ass because you cant get your feet out intime. etc...

    Give me some suggestions people...

DONT GET BINDINGS / SKYHOOKS /ANYTHING!

Its way better to be able to move your feet around, and safer to eject from your board, rather than being stuck to it.
If your not skating for fun, what are you skating for?

You just use sky hooks (ollie hooks),... doesnt have to be solid bindings.
Yeah its more dangerous, but youve got a great grip on the board and you can do some interesting stuff.

If you want some serious sky hooks you can buy some freebord bindings.

    Freebord S2 Bindings

From experience, there not hard to quickly step out of as long as you practice a bit and remember that you are using them, however, you could still get pwnd if you get caught and need to bail. They are fully adjustable and lock your foot in real good if you want them too.

Lots of "innovations" in skateboarding that make one thing easier and everything else harder to do.

Better to learn to ollie and grab your board for jumps.

A front toe stop seems like a good idea for slalom of course.

Check out the wakeskaters, no bindings is so cool!

velcro you shoes to the board...

no not really, though it would be cool if that sort of thing would work

maybe you could make some larger wooden toe-stops, so you can lock both feet up against them. just dont have them wrap around the foot.

It's threads like this that keep me coming back to this site!

A Loaded with snowboard bindings - Are you real?

I'd rather not put my feet on a Vanguard. Ever.
But you want to fix yours on there good & proper with bindings?

There are clueless toy companies that market a new piece of crap every year:
"THE NEW, IMPROVED REPLACEMENT FOR THE SKATEBOARD!!!"

It usually has foot straps, flashing lights and pink ponies or skulls on it.

    They love kids like you.

I have seen people on the internet with bindings on a vengard that are like 20 years old, they where doing those kind of jumps like what they do on snowboards.

    [Adopts "wise" voice]
Yes, but Jesse, those people are f*ck-wits and attention-whores.
You don't want to be like that, do you?

    Seriously:
When a bunch of un-wise old men (like me) tells you the full-on binding/ footstrap idea is probably "A Bad Thing" it's because lots of people (like me) have tried this stuff already and found out it sucks. Crashes, broken ankles, no way of bailing...

Try the "Sky Hook" thing if you MUST. It's less dangerous than the binding idea.
    But it still mostly sucks.

Or get a mountain board. They have bindings.
Of course, they still largely suck compared to a skateboard/ longboard (IME), but at least you'll have a softer landing crashing on dirt than going under a bus attached to your Loaded.

Or maybe there's some new form of binding available that I know nothing about.
One that really works, is safe, is fun, and doesn't make your board suck for everything else.
If so, I apologise. So go buy some and then show us pics of it.
