which board should would be a better choice, mostly going to use for commuting/carving over flat land and small hills, although its gotta handle some steeper slopes.

I would go with the Bustin Strike. It's low, and the angled nose and tail make the trucks turn quicker. Make sure you get 180mm trucks so you don't get any wheel bite. I have one Bustin strike but I would buy a second one. I think I saw one on the sales forum.

The flex on the Bustin Stike is very little. I'm 200lbs and it hardly flexes.
All the boards you're looking at are great boards. Just know that the next board is just one of many to come. So, if you're having trouble choosing it is because none of the boards you are looking at suck.
That being said, it's not the board, it's the rider.
Buying a better skateboard does not make me a better rider,
but riding a skateboard makes me a better person.
(I just made that up. $5 please.)

the strike is badass, some people complain the wedgeing is too much and whatnot,, well bustin is kicking around a new strike with different dimensions, a wider back and less of an angle no the mounts

but honestly, i love it as it, you have to get used to it but i just think it is amazing
A belligerent floating igloo! Splendidly stirring idea.
