    Default Optimal Wheels of Dancing?

when you dance do you want:
    hard or soft wheels?
    round or rigid edges?
deep or shallow amount of urethane?
    center or offset hubs?
    big or small wheels?

thanks for the answers in advance.

I got Retro freerides and 70mm zigzags, both 80a. What do you think would be better? I'm leaning toward freerides, because of the round edges, but the zigzags would be more plush.

    sarcasm.

Just get a wheel that you like it doesn't mater with dancing as long as it rolls.

dont you want traction for dancing? so the board doesnt slide (some wheels slide when you dont even want them to) when your cross-stepping and facing backwards peter panning.

The freerides have a pretty god amount of grip, but you are right. ill probably just use my zigs.

I prefer centersets over sidesets. I found I roll longer with them, haven't done 'extensive' testing so it might be me going crazy. I prefer bigger plusher wheels that can run over a lot of things.

well i guess it depends on the size of your board. If youre riding a loaded dancer i would suggest orangatang in heat or 4prez. But on a shorter dance board such as a komodo, big zigs or retro freerides would be my choice

    get zigzags.

Big zigs are huge for a top mount dancer.

I'm running Inheats on my Roggs Jr Dancer. Only a few mm away from wheelbite, and I can still carve well

I agree with this...Dancers are big, thick boards...Why ride any higher than needed...? 70mm is plenty of wheel...Also, I have thrown Freeride wheels on a dancer...Its not fun...The contact patch just isnt big enough...78a to 83 - 84a and you're good to go...

I rode some lime zigzags on my 60" freeride.. changed over to 72a avilas.. never looked back. So plush.. just floating on a cloud...

retros were pretty good.. freerides do have a good grip and i like the way they ride too. For dancing i like maximum plushness and maximum grip.. you aren't going to outdo the avilas too easily

I've found that round lipped wheels like powerballs are a little more forgiving when you're stomping down shuvits and stuff. A square lipped wheel is more likely to catch the pavement and stop the board from spinning more abruptly. but I think orange or purple 4 pres are a great wheel for dancing. They're super plush, with a supposed durometer of softer than the stated 80-83a.

i think grippins are pretty good for dancing. Centerset, squared edge, and 70mm sounds like a good combo to me for some smooth dancing. Mine are 75a, but if i could choose again, I probably would have got a little bit of a harder duro

If you're doing transitions at all I would recommend some round lipped wheels, but definitely keep them soft. Maybe 81a strikers? Pink powerballs? Strikers are 66mm so that will be a tad bit lower than your 72mm and 70mm suggestions.
